Dominant performance by the Alabama defense. Great game. *

I watched it all, but it wasn't really compelling. I expected LSU to play better, they were as legit a #1 as there could be, undefeated, only one close game, beat so many ranked teams.

I never really thought they were in it. Alabama had an answer for everything. Jefferson was so rattled it was almost sad. But since Lee has a 1/7 TD/INT ratio against Bama, Miles hands were tied.

I liked watching it from the standpoint of just liking to watch games with atmospheres like that, not like I ever get to see that live. But it ended up being such a mismatch.

Snooze fest. I went to sleep at half-time.
i think they should get rid of field goals and last night makes me feel stronger about it. they're just a boring weird partial credit artifact from the dark ages. the two baddest teams in the country and the games mostly decided by one of the jonas brothers.

There's a tremendous difference between appreciating a dominant performance and actually having fun watching said dominant performance.

IB clearly had fun watching what the Bama D did, but he's in the minority.

It was funny following Twitter last night -- so many people complaining about the game, who were then shouted down by some folks with stuff like "you don't know football!!!", "great defense is exciting!!!", and my favorite "don't you enjoy 1-0 baseball games?!?!".

And of course the answer to the last question is "it depends". Some 1-0 games are crisp, well-played, exciting affairs. Others are not, and suck to watch.

I think it's possible to both appreciate great defense and yet not be some troglodyte who didn't have a blast watching that game.

This game reminded me a little bit of how hysterically over the top soccer commentators get over dopey mundane middle of the field noodling in games where no one can score. Simply sublime, what a touch, blah blah. Overcompensation. Football purists go over the top in different ways but it's still kinda the same.

I appreciate what the Bama defense did. Pretty phenomenal if you ask me. The game itself however was a bore fest and I dont see how this was a great "game". Stanford/Okie State was a great game. This was a mauling. I hope to hell the powers to be of the BCS wake the and at least make it a plus one so we dont have to go through this year after year.
I think we woould have seen this game in a 1 + 1. If they were 1 & 2 i think they beat 3 & 4 and play anyways
