If you decided he wasn’t good enough earlier in the season, then fine. Ok, he’s having a bad game. Most of our guys do most of the time. We aren’t playing for anything and it ain’t like Betsey is lighting the world on fire. It was his last home game and your way of coaching was to embarrass the kid? Then you put him in with 4 sec to go in OT? Not right.

Are you serious? He will start the next game. He played far more minutes this year than he earned.

I like the lineup with Kingz at the 2G, should have been that way all year long. Betsy played more due to White being out, who we could have used today. JJ was 0-7 and missing very badly he seems so apathetic and frankly has lost all confidence in his shot to the point he is unplayable. For such a great athlete at least at running fast he gets toasted on defense. Part of Reds issue was sticking with him all year instead of having Kings at the 2G. JJ seems like a great kid, good student and teammate but this is pay for play to win not rec ball.

I feel as bad as anyone about how it ended for JJ. But if your goal was to win the game…….. he shouldn’t be on the court. He is mentally shot. Don’t blame the coach for that.

Sometimes plan is to get it back to the inbounder immediately who is moving downhi

If you want to say he played more than he’s earned, more than fine with it. You don’t do that to the kid today of all days. It was malpractice.
He played 27 minutes today and was shut out. How many minutes should have he played today? Red has done a lot of things that were coaching malpractice, but leaving him on the bench in the second half wasn't one of them.

I was fine with him not playing in the second half. The two Nates were playing well and we stormed back from down 12. He simply didn’t play well enough today to deserve significant minutes.

But he should have had the ball in his hands on that final play of the game. We had to go the length of the floor in 4 seconds and he’s the only player on the roster capable of doing that.

How bout designing a play, where passing the ball travels faster than dribbling it

Agreed

And he's the fastest guy on the team to get down the court, but you waste his speed by having him inbound the ball at the other end. Odd call.
JJ should have been where George was. The first pass should have been to the sideline and then hit JJ running toward the basket. It was there for the taking. The first pass was about five feet????

The last three games he shot 2-18 and scored a total of 4 points. Something's not right. Definitely not the stuff of a preseason 2nd team All Acc. Red has done some strange things over the last three seasons. Today he did the best he could with extremely limited subs available. Senior night or no senior night.

He’s scored 4 points the last 3 games across 79 minutes

He’s an absolute mess right now. It’s really unfortunate and sad to see, but at some point, performing this poorly should have some consequences.
Time to focus on his studies

Senior night. Local kid. The game really did not matter. People matter more than any game. I don't care if we paid him a lot of money. In the end he is a human, and he has feelings, and Red stomped on them as far as I am concerned. Put him in, and do the senior pull out for an ovation. He could still have put him back in for the last play.
