Shouldn’t rivals play each other on a regular basis? Can people stop repeating this trope? Many of us disagree with this ridiculous assertion. Of course they are.

I don't think people doubt he COULD be a player with the right coaching. I think people doubt he would accept the coaching. He clearly has all the talent. Is he willing to get dirty and do the hard stuff? Maybe for a different staff. For those who don't think Donnie could be a player with the right coaching, Uconn has had a great eye for talent in recent years
Wouldn’t rule out Alabama. I just think he’s too good of a fit down there.Going to either UConn or Kentucky
on a team of what? Our leading scorer and rebounder and second best FT shooter.
If true, that says more about us/the coaching staff than it does Donnie. In fact, I’d give Do nice credit because that would be a strong sign he is ready to be coached hard and get better.UConn is one of the last places I thought would want Donnie
Shows Hurley's confidence that Donnie's issues were not due to Donnie.UConn is one of the last places I thought would want Donnie
Wonder if he found that over time it’s easier to develop defensive skills in offensively skilled players than offensive skills in defensively minded players.Hurley in a recent interview said his recruiting philosophy is to go after offensive skilled players. He no longer goes after the defensive guys. He wants scoring. I imagine he believes he can coach them and get them to buy into playing tough defense.
Maybe? It was a interview with him and Geno Auriemma and they both basically said the same thing. They now recruit offense and scoring.Wonder if he found that over time it’s easier to develop defensive skills in offensively skilled players than offensive skills in defensively minded players.
They have surpassed as a program several times over. We are not even the equivalent of a pimple on their butt. And UConn was the laughing stock during the early Big East years when SYR was a power. Times have sure changed.Zacly.
A rival has to care about you, too.
Hard to argue with it. Hurley has been pretty damn successful and I can't stand him. I can see the appeal for wanting to bring in a talented player like Donnie.Hate to agree with him, but I do. Defense is effort, offense is skill. Harder to get skill than effort.

Reminds me of the Rutgers dumpster fire thread. Maybe we need a UConn one to move this discussion there, then we can ignore it easier.Too many people here care about Storrs and how other fans here perceive them and not many people here wanted Donne Freeman to come back in late February. Just a ridiculous thread and posts all around. I’d be in favor of banning anyone who mentions said school. If we played a drinking game around this discussion everyone would be perpetually drunk.
The self-pitying UConn posts are so uninteresting.Too many people here care about Storrs and how other fans here perceive them and not many people here wanted Donne Freeman to come back in late February. He just did a Instagram live video and started to get annoyed with Syracuse fans who kept asking how is visit went and then someone asked about playing with Tyus Battle and he abruptly ended the video.
Also stated he won't be committing anytime soon.
