Donnie Freeman injures foot

He is averaging 13 and 8 as floor stretching 4 who oozes potential. I do not believe he would get drafted and playing will not help because the more he's played for Red the more his stock has dropped. The hard truth is why would he play with the risk of reinjury or dropping his stock even more when he's on cheap deal for a bad coach and bad team. If he portals he will get paid.
i get the "logic" of this...but if this is really what is going to determine what players do and who they play for etc...it will kill the sport...and definitely kill my interest in following syracuse, personally. this is the fisrt season in a looong time ive just not even bothered to watch a lot of the games...

if Freeman transfers to some SEC or blueblood team next year, I think I may finally actually be done with watching ...

NCAABB and NBA ratings are trending down and at lows right now

the uber-selfishness and entitlement of todays players is not endearing

yeah they can "get theirs" and do whats best for themselves...but it doesnt mean they wont kill the sport.

all I hear when the issue of what a player will do for themselves and their career is ...its their choice, their life...they can do what they want...and yeah thats true...but I dont have to like it...and according to the numbers...a lot of other fans are feeling the same.

Thye answer is..I don't know. I didn't have anything to do with it. My guess, and it is just that, is that we didn't want to be in a position where he did well and we had to pay up in just a couple of years. That is all I got.
Haha, pay up for what? Him going to replace Davis at UNC or to the NBA? So if he had immediate success he would want more money? Ok, that's fine because then he would have earned it and you would feel confident in the investment. This contract doesn't make any sense.
I thought he was hired because he was an alum and he would be loyal, lol.

There is zero chance red is getting that kind of money. They hire in the cheap and red is a first time hc with zero experience.
That's what I would think and there is no logic to this like if your gonna spend that much on Red, just pay a little more for Cooley, Shrewsbury, Kelcey etc

I've read that he's making between $2M and 3M. Was his original deal 3 years or 5? If three, then the buy out is only 1 year, worst case 3 years left if Wildhack offered a rookie coach with no head coaching experience a 5 year deal.

That would be a very poor business decision, so I would guess that Red has 1 year guaranteed right now, probably with an option or two on the University's part at guaranteed raises.
I could see this being the case

This is what the new age knuckle heads wanted. It's about me not team or the sport of basketball anymore!

And I was told it is a 4-year deal, not 5.
Exactly. So many posters are just blindly repeating that it’s a 5 year deal. I don’t think it is. That makes zero sense and there’s no way the university lawyers and administration would sign off on that.

Serious question. Heard on the radio Sadiq and Freeman are good buds. Confirm or Deny gods of the message board?

Maybe because both played for IMG, although not at the same time.

I seriously doubt he plays again this year. Why would he? What does he gain? If he isnt practicing if he is still 100% in the boot he comes back for what 6 games at best. If he does come back is it to prove to another college or the NBA that he is good to go so he can get the best bag?

If he's still in the boot on Wednesday, he's not playing anymore this year.

**Unless we make a long tournament run**

This seems like it is trending [sadly] towards turning into Chris McCullough the second -- highest rated recruit we've landed in awhile, only played a small fraction of a season in a down year, will probably be gone before the fanbase even got a chance to "know" him.
