My best friend, no longer with us, had a massive cocaine problem in his adult life. One night, while really messed up and broke (and wanting another high), he tried robbing a convenient mart. He entered with no weapon, so he took his finger and put it in his pocket trying to make it look like a gun. The clerk obviously knew he had nothing, reached behind the counter and grabbed a "real" gun. He kept my buddy there for the police. He went to jail for a while.

Drug addiction and being broke are deadly combinations, and then mix in some mental health issues on top, and you have an inferno. Beyond sad.

He probably took home just over 2 mil - that is literally chicken feed in the game of life - let alone for someone like Donte that had no plans - Rich Dad Poor Dad should be absolute mandatory reading by the 4th grade - then we re-read it in the 5th and 6th

Whoa. That's not "chicken feed". Take that $2mm, buy a $500k house/condo for cash, put $1.5mm in investments and annuitize that at 6% for $90k a year. Coach your old HS team for kicks, a sense of "giving back", and a social life. That's a pretty goddamn good life.
