Wow I'm real surprised to hear so many negative things being said about Doug. Each of us can only judge people by our interations and observations, for me he's all aces.

Half the reason I got so excited about SU sports was Doug Logan calling games. ABSOLUTELY THE BEST. Matt Park is poop on Doug's boot...

If there is one pet peeve I always had about Logan, it was that he was equally enthusiastic when the opponent scored as he was when Syracuse scored. Nothing like hearing Doug go apeshit over a WVU touchdown...

That's the thing. Doug is FANTASTIC with the public. He is an absolute PR machine. Behind the scenes though, with those he worked with, he wasn't that great. I was always taught that you can tell the measure of a man by the way he treats the people under him. Doug treated his subordinates pretty poorly. The problem with that is he put in pretty much no effort into being the sports director at channel 9, and his subordinates did almost all the work. I don't fault him for it, you'd just like to see a boss recognize and appreciate the folks who make him look good on a daily basis.

With that said, he did help me out on occasion with things, where I would never have expected him to help. He's an interesting dude, and definitely worthy of the honors he receives. Not a great play by play guy, but definitely had the energy and panache that made locals love him.
