Watching the game this afternoon and a commercial comes on for Repatha. It reduces the risk for heart attack, stroke and certain types of heart surgery. What's not to like about that?

The Commercial gets me all excited for all the good that Repatha could do me, but then they tell me "Do Not Take Repatha if you are allergic to it" Damn!! Why not????

CYA move. "You can't sue us because we told you to stop taking it if it turns out you're allergic to it."

I know it won't happen for a variety of reasons, but they've got to end prescription drug advertising on TV and radio. It benefits no one except the drug companies and the actors hired to be in them.

Agreed....the commercials are starting down a path of taking the doctor out of the equation of deciding when someone should/shouldn't take a med. Go see your doctor and if he/she can't see the good that a particular med will do for you either it won't do what you think, or you need a better doctor.

The drug ads all ending with a rapid fire list of possible side effects, many worse or more dangerous than the condition they are treating, are doing no one any good without one’s doctor putting it all in proper perspective.
