He's good sure, but he's also a d2 Transfer whos probably ending up in the 300s or lower in terms of the overall portal rankings, the best d2 guy last year went to Oklahoma St, possibly the only P5 team with as bad of a stretch of games as we have had (they have looked better recently, but still 6 blowouts and a loss to 12th place in the American Tulsa in 7 games is pretty on par with us)

This is not me saying he's bad, im saying that its unlikely he is viewed as this crazy must land player by the big teams, Chambliss was ranked as the 60th best QB in the portal, 36 spots below Rickie Collins, he also transferred to be a back up, now he ended up being pretty good, but I dont think anyone was expecting that.

The points are a.) there is really good talent even at D2 and b.) don't get your head wrapped around transfer ratings .. they are just as bad if not worse than high school rankings. Yes he came in as a backup but now starts ahead of Simmons, players blossom late it happens.

It’s November and it’s one guy. I agree that it will be difficult to get the very top DLs, they cost a fortune, but we will get some good guys

He's proven you wrong since he arrived at SU.

One prospect, can't get all of them. Especially at premium positions.

But make no mistake, we are going to revamp the DL. I would expect multiple portal transfers, who can contend to START. Need two DEs.

I can't agree that Fran has proven that at this point. He has had one great year and one so-so year so far imo. I can only use his won-loss record as my gauge. My gut feeling is he will get some quality players in the portal. Not a slam dunk yet though.

You don't think that Fran has proven that he can get top flight talent via the portal?

Wouldn't you assume you use the portal to fill needs/roster weaknesses? He hit a home run first time around. This year's record clearly shows he missed on a lot of positions. He can do better this time around, I'm sure. I truly believe he will. His 247 transfer rank the first year was 24. His 2025 class was 47. That ok. Not elite in my mind.

I assume that the reason this season went in the tank is because the five-star quarterback that Brown landed, who was leading the nation in passing yardage, got injured due to a non-contact injury. At the time, we were 3-1 and fast tracking towards a bowl.

That and that alone is the reason that the season came unraveled.

Angeli doesn't get injured, and we easily get to 7:00 or eight wins, and everybody still has Fran brown fever. Now, people are questioning whether he can even recruit, which seems absurd to me.
