Duke 7.5 favorites vs Cuse

Almost made a run to the PA border to bet Duke but it seemed too obvious.

I am very surprised it is only 7.5 points. In the 2nd half of the first meeting, the lead fluctuated between 25-30 for a long (10 min) stretch (the point being that the 20 point final margin was extremely misleading). Also, Jesse played in that game and was our leading scorer and rebounder. I realize the Dome crowd is worth 3-4 points, but would be pleasantly surprised if we covered.
Similar to the idea Kirbivore had (for us that are NY residents), was very tempted to go over to NJ to bet it as it was definitely the "lock of the year" (based on the above), but didn't want to waste a couple hours via public transportation (2 diff trains).

I thought sports betting was operational in NYS.

I'd rather SU wins and I lose the bet, but I have benefitted by getting paid a ton of times to watch us be mediocre over the last 3 years. I usually don't bet much once we are deep into ACC season but there is a lot of value to be had early in the year when lines are built around the assumption that SU now is the same as SU 10 years ago... but today was literally free money.

I have the same philosophy. Last night may have been one of the dumbest betting lines I've ever seen. The handicappers don't do a great job with college hoops, particularly with mid-majors and second tier conferences. Not sure how they do with the NBA - I don't pay attention to that league until maybe the playoffs - but college hoops provides some nice opportunities if you're willing to watch games on ESPN+ etc.

Ah I should know that. I live in NJ and you can't bet on NJ teams. An equally dumb rule for both states. At least its saving SU fans that live in NYS some money. :)
Do have to wear your mask to bet?
