Duke Kickoff: 12:30 RSN [YES in NYS]

SU said they would give us two weeks notice for ticket sales.

They didn't say anything.

Keep an eye on Buffalo media. Bills have a home game against the Chiefs two weeks from Thursday and they are apparently lobbying the governor for limited fan attendance. If they get the okay I would expect us to as well. However my expectation is that our first game with fans may well be limited to students an staff. Just a hunch.

possibly parents of players too

Some updates:

Miami and FSU have been allowing limited numbers of fans to attend home games.

The governor of NC has agreed to let limited numbers of fans attend college football games there, so NC State, UNC, Duke and WF will be hosting fans again starting this week.

More NFL teams are opening up. Dallas hosted the biggest crowd so far (over 20K) and it is significant to us because they play in a dome. Indianapolis (another dome) is also starting to host crowds. I think they are starting with only about 10% of capacity.

Ohio just got the okay to have limited crowds for NFL games as well.

The Steelers think they will start hosting crowds for their home game on 10/11. New England is like Buffalo..no plans to host fans for the first two weeks, hoping to open things up in a limited way after that. Agree with Consigliere that it is likely the pro teams in the NE will lead the way and the college teams in those states will follow.

They do a pregame and postgame show. If the Yankees are playing at 1 PM, there's a 1 hour pregame on YES.

And God is a Yankees fan.

Why else would he put the Yankees in the greatest city in the world, and the Indians in Cleveland. :D

Just bad luck, normally the almighty Yankees are always prime time on a Saturday, but we were burnt by a sat 1:00 start last week.

Slowly opening it up is smart, masks mandatory and its been done safely thus far. Even 15k at a game makes a huge difference. Fingers crossed that every team can have fans.

So much for watching the Duke game... :(

Any other streaming suggestions?
Hulu w/live tv. No mtv or vh1 and clunkier interface than yttv. Also has limits on DVR, but $15 cheaper and has the RSNs

I know everyone loves to "CUT THE CORD" but I gotta be honest it seems like a big headache trying to figure out what channels are actually there on each platform. As much as Spectrum or Verizon or DirecTV aren't perfect, at least I know the channel lineup is there.

Get this one you don't get MTV or VH1. Get that one and you just lost your RSN's. It seems like a big headache. I would rather just pay for cable, know I can probably save a few bucks if I did the cut the cord game, but at least have the peace of mind of knowing what channels I have and what I get is always there.

Agree, it's a pain to try to prioritize that. Seems like the prices are creeping up too.

I'm sticking with Fios. I'll pay the extra to know I've got everything I want.

Still sit on the couch like a bum and watch 10 hours of football.
HEY! Not all of us are total bums! Some of manage to get our own beverages and make your own lunches, or at least order delivery.* Come on, those are still skills and being productive, aren't they?

*Disclosure: My kids are grown and have moved out. Which itself is a dilemma in life, if you parent correctly, your kids grow up, becone adults and move out; if not, they stay with you forever...

I think I’ll do a Hulu trial for the Duke game and then pause the trial. Re-using it as needed. I trust that RSNs will be back to YTTV before MLB restarts next Spring. If not, we’ll re-evaluate then.

Agree. I like the convenience of not having to scramble trying to figure this out every week. I'm a big enough fan of Syracuse sports and sports in general that it's worth it to me and I can afford it.

If Spectrum keeps driving up prices, I think Hulu + Live TV looks like a great option but, for now, there are still some channels that I want to be able to watch (Paramount, AMC, BBC, IFC).
Plus, I'm kind of lazy about stuff like this.

I think a big part of "cutting the cord" is people just wanting to give a big -U to the cable company like they are getting them back by dropping them and hurting them in some way. I hate to break it to people but the CEO's at Verizon/Spectrum/DirecTV are sleeping very well at night and aren't tossing and turning over Joe Fan dropping them. And in the case of Verizon and Spectrum, as long as they have customers Internet and now cell phones since they are all in the cell phone game, they control you and the lost cost of the cable they can live with.

These major companies aren't going under because anyone is cutting the cord.

That’s not it for me.

I haven’t missed an SU game ever. Live in NE Ohio. Cut the cord years ago. Estimate I’ve saved $5,000 to $6,000 over that time.

Doubt I’ll need to switch away from YouTubeTV. The loss off the Fox RSNs isn’t a YTTV thing. It’s a Sinclair Broadcasting thing.

Cutting the cord, for me, was and is all about extending the family budget with zero loss of my key sports viewing outlets.
