Dungey was nicked up. We all saw him hang his shoulder on the way out of bounds a few games back, so it's no surprise that he had more incompletions and accuracy issues than normal. This was noticeable IMO because: a) we're used to seeing him make those throws; and 2) the analog - DeVito - is such a talented pure passer that he highlighted Dungey's injury issues.
But I saw little, if any, vestiges of it against NC St. In warmups (sleeveless without his pads) he had lost the shoulder tape. He was throwing effortlessly over a variety of distances. The on-field performance was the same: 1) he threw for his second-highest career total; 2) he had a bunch of completions that would have been almost impossible with an injury, including threading the needle to Riley across the middle on multiple occasions; 3) a couple touch passes to the boundary that he couldn't complete the last few games; and 4) he made several long throws - one right in the bucket to Johnson that traveled 40+ yards - that were as good, maybe better, than I've ever seen him put up. So whatever was going on (and there was something), I didn't see much evidence of it Saturday.
