If I were Shafer, I'd be holding out on the news that Dungey is out for as long as I possibly can. Gametime decision so the game distracts from the circus last week. First smart thing he's done in awhile.

Their story also says medical staff is working with him every day, making sure he's getting better, and that it's one day at a time. That sounds like a concussion protocol similar to what ND has reported for one of their rbs.According to Syracuse.com, the injury was to his shoulder/collarbone area.
"Cardinals linebacker James Hearns collided with Dungey on a scramble, driving his helmet into Dungey's shoulder/collarbone area from the left side and launching the quarterback to the grass."

Is concussion the word of the season. Unreal guy get tackle by a leg and goes down, must have a concussion. Player takes his helmet off to get water, must be a concussion. How many times do people have to hear it's not a concussion till they believe it.This injury is not a concussion.

yeah look at the picture accompanying that article sunday, DIRECT head shot. How the guys wasn't tossed out is beyond me. The ACC and college football in general needs to do post game retrospective reviews on these things if they want to save the game long term.According to Syracuse.com, the injury was to his shoulder/collarbone area.

See, this is why people shouldn't jump to conclusions about the number of concussions he has had. CMU could have been neck/upper back, Pitt a fake job and UofL a collarbone. For all we know, he hasn't had any concussions this season, which would be great news.According to Syracuse.com, the injury was to his shoulder/collarbone area.

First, I did not realize that it's somehow out of bounds to comment on what our head football coach said today about the status of our best player, and compare it to what another school has (transparently) said in print about its own protocols for concussions. Our own coach also alluded to a head injury on Saturday. Second, I hope you are rightThis injury is not a concussion.

I don't doubt it's not a concussion...making Shafer's comment in the presser about it being Dungey's "head" even more...um...crazy? Dumb? Irresponsible?
