...is really what it came down to. I don't know if those were a result of his getting rattled or not, but he's a freshman and he made two horrible freshman mistakes. If we don't throw one or two of those, I really think we win the game.

I still love him.

Miserable...really? Irv need to get his head around...that INT was totally on him.

Eh, if we had scored a FG on either (or both) of those two possession, I'm sure that our D would have rolled out the red carpet for a game-losing 95-yd TD drive.

2nd one was really bad, he didn't step into the throw. Just jumped up and kind of tossed it. 1st one seemed like he was looking for the TE to be a bit more to the left and the tip happened.

In fairness, he didnt know where he was due to the hit to his head
...

The first INT was thrown to the wrong side of the receiver if I remember correctly and the second was just a lob into double coverage.

the wide out wasn't even looking. The ball was right there.

Agreed. His poor play in the 2nd half was a result of the big hit he took. It definitely hurt his confidence and made him force throws that werent there. He needs to stop taking big hits.

and if Erv catches the TD that he should have in the EZ, we would have. Or if he caught the one that dropped on his helmet. We didn't make all the plays we should have...

Very disappointed in Erv today. He had a great catch for a TD, but then not sure what happened.

He needs to start helping out his freshman QB. Twice he never even turned back. That 2nd pick, he could've still made a play on the ball. The kid can stop on a dime.

It wasn't double coverage - there were two receivers whose patterns caused them to be in the same area. If one of them didn't run the wrong route, it was a poor play design.

Isn't that why sports message boards exist? To vent about what happened during the game with a little harmless speculation mixed in?

Some do use it that way.

First INT was thrown to the wrong shoulder. That's on Dungey.

The second one, I would bet, is on Erv. It seemed like Erv and ED had wires crossed a few times today.

The second pick was definitely on Erv. He has to turn around. The ball was.placed where it needed for him to catch it.

Saying we put a player out there with his brains scrambled is a little less harmless.

Science! ;)

None of us have a legit clue.
To assume players, important ones at that, are not given more leeway than others to "get back out there" might be disingenuous.

I honestly think Syracuse is uber cautious on head licks. Name another program that uses the rubber helmet shields and has also disqualified 4 student athletes in 4 years for concussions...including some pretty important players.

I'd be absolutely shocked if Dungey didn't pass the concussion test and was fully cleared to play. Especially the way the staff dragged him off the field.

I don't think you can ever be cautious enough when it comes to head injuries, its unlike any other part of the body, ive had two concussions myself, its nothing to fool around with.

Sure it looks like we're doing our part. But, honestly, i couldnt believe he came back in. Again, i have no idea, for all i know he was unconscious, or he was just "holy $ h i t that hurt" . My point is none of us know. I was being stupid in the game thread but he didn't look the same. As objective as i can be.

Pitt ran the ball. The frosh from Niagara Falls could not be contained.

Dungey does not have a reliable run game.

I thought that he played great today despite the picks.

First pick was on Dungey. Second was on Irv. He (Irv) also failed to turn around on another beautiful pass from Dungey in the first half. The ball actually hit Irv in the head it was so accurate. Both of the interceptions were play calls I didn't agree with. Both happened when we had the momentum. Lester tries to get too cute at times.
