Meeks just locked up a corner physically run blocking.
Meeks checks every NFL box.
I think he ends up being drafted, and has a good chance to stick.

I imagine NFL teams aren't swayed by the commentating. Us fans are, myself included. But they're probably not.

I was told by someone at the game that would know, that Kyle was planning on playing...right up until he was given a specific reason not to. Take that as you will. I'm not an insider, I just happened to be in the right place at the right time to meet some very nice people.Health I am sure. Not getting hurt before the draft. Likely was told all he needed to hear during practices.
Teams can say anything i.e, "we're going to draft you if you're available..." but it means nothing. A lot can happen between now and draft day. Players opting out probably did so based on decisions with their respective camps and feedback they were getting from teams. I don’t think they sat because teams specifically asked them to sit out. I think it's more of a collective decision by their camps based on the way they think they performed in practices, drills and what they were hearing from teams.Generally when that happens in a game like this, teams that are very serious on drafting them have asked them not to play.
The work for this game is put in with the meetings and the practices and the drills.
McCord and others that didn’t play were probably asked by NFL teams not to play
So does Coach Nunzio get some credit for Kyles improvement? If so, another nice selling point to use on the recruiting trail.2025 Shrine Bowl: Ranking the top performers, including Syracuse QB Kyle McCord
Here are the top performers from the Shrine Bowl game and the preceding practiceswww.cbssports.com
"McCord's processing and anticipation is much improved as his footwork, both inside and outside of the pocket. McCord told CBS his footwork was a major emphasis for him this past offseason. The football had the most zip coming out of his hands of any quarterback to participate in the week's practices and games. "
Enjoyed your two posts ArchDuke. Although I was disappointed, they didn't play, I get it.Also, the whole game Kyle and Oronde were side by side wherever they went on the sidelines. I thought it was pretty cool and showed the bond they must have made this season.
We tried to get autographs but only one side of the stadium was open, which wasn't the East's side. After the game, many of the West players tossed personal items to the fans. Maybe two East players came over. At one point however, Oronde came out of the tunnel and walked 2/3rds of the way over with a football. I tried to get his attention in our Orange gear, but he tossed the ball up into the stands an aisle away. Regardless, we still had fun and my son wants to go to more games, so it's a win overall.
OK thankyouGenerally when that happens in a game like this, teams that are very serious on drafting them have asked them not to play.

Broadcasters were terrible. Just talking talking talkingI wonder why in the broadcast they didn't talk to people who opted out when they are high profile guys who had great weeks of practice.
They had tons of time
True me tooI want to know why Diggs and Clark didn’t play. Injury?
Accept an invitation to play, get hosted and coached by the bowl organization for a week, and then not play in the game; is this the next step in CF?

His agent is probably getting feedback that Kyle is probably 4th best QB in the draft, looking like a 4th round pick, maybe a bit higher.

Or it's not considered a strong class.I guess not too many teams need QBs.
Then why even have a game you know. It's like college basketball players going to the pre-Draft Camp. There is a similar process. You practice, you do interviews, you get measured, you do drills.
If you show enough to get a guarantee from a team, you often see them shut it down. Not any different.

That's the thing about the NFL draft, when there is a shortage of quality players at a certain position teams start to panic when the list gets shorter and draft earlier than they anticipated because of need.
Curious how the free agent market is for QB's as well. If that's low then Kyle is sitting in the cat bird seat.
