If they want to go back to playing fast give you a lot of formational flexibility with the base package.

Benson can be inline, in the slot, h back, out on the boundary and drop taj into the slot. With Elmore you have a force player with quick feet that can be a traditional i formation fb, pull from the offset, move up to create two tight formations, line up wide to run bubbles, or be the single back and move Tucker into the slot

with the two of them you can run power and spread the field with the same personnel because of Bensons speed and Elmore’s combination of size and skill

I heard angels singing as I read this

I hope we can do just this. Love it. There has to be some reason we haven’t done this. Especially since Elmore has been here forever.
I wonder if they just haven’t shown reliability yet.
Maybe as in life the coaches are stuck in a certain mindset and haven’t thought outside the box.

Im ready to see some progress and forward thinking. I like systems but I also like flexibility and adjustments on the fly.

Trap defensive personnel on the field and play mismatches. We used to do this and it was quite enjoyable.
I wonder how much of that came from the QB being able to run it. Meaning, understanding how to make it work quickly without needing to stop and get guidance.

Down and distance drive play calling. 2nd and 9 and 3rd and 8 are much easier to defend and less easy to ad lib from the line.

Think we, collectively, put too much emphasis on running QBs because we've had a couple great ones spoil us. A methodical Nassib offense would do fine and RBs averaging 4 ypc by getting 3,5,3,4,5,3,8,0,4 vs -2,0,0,1,-1,2,0, 24,0,4 would actually move the chains. We get excited about 100 yard rushers but if 84 come on one play and the rest is 24 carries for 16 yards it means our defense is gassed.

We just need first downs and to extend drives. Baby steps

it how they have used the no huddle in the past. Those two guys add a little more flexibility. They have flexed the te around the formation. In the nd game I’m pretty they put elmore on the boundary and helped spring lutz on his long run.

We have already tried using Elmore so many different ways , if this season is going to be about his versatility, holy s where's the Tylenol

different than how he has been used in the past , which was multiple positions

I just don't want to do the multiple kitchen sink stuff. We had the worst o line ever and a QB who needs a great line to be successful. No reason to start thinking the offense needs too many wrinkles. I admire the guy's will to get on the field but I just don't think he helps us

I think he was out there because we had no choice but to try and go large. With a better oline we need to be a bit more diverse and I hope we can.. I also didnt see a great amount of push most of the time with a 270 Fb hitting in the holes. our jumbo was a failed lineup way too often even if it was our attempt at short yardage.. not sure what else we could have tried given we couldnt pass block either.

Maybe we should have just given up and gone with a funky formtation and hoped teams would blow a coverage on occasion.

Elmore at QB, K & P this season and we’re good. ;)

Last year was a waste, nothing mattered. I just hope they don't give up on a good system because of a lineup that fails in every system

If people dont see the value Elmore brings to the HB position than I dont know what to tell you.
How many valuable hb get switched to to OL

The value needs to be compared to the value of the WR now on the the sideline

Would your plan include throwing passes to the TE? Asking for some friends.
I've wondered why they don't use Elmore as a TE. He's proven immensely versatile and he clearly blocks. Maybe he can't catch a ball to save his life but one would think there could be some serious shenanigan's on the Oline with him there.

He is going to move up on the line and give offense a two tight look.

btw he caught two swing passes in practice on Friday

I love being an armchair genius...Well, maybe the blind squirrel finding an acorn analogy is more appropriate for me.

not many, highly unusual circumstances

it’s not a coincidence they ran the ball when Davis came back and Elmore went back to fullback late in the year.

if they can run for 225 I’ll keep shared Johnson on the sideline

The OL was in dire straights, you do what you have to

Why doesn’t everyone run 3/4 WR sets all the time? Sometimes, the value of an extra big guy is greater than a small WR who won’t be needed

I saw a squirrel walking a german shepherd a few days back...NOW I know why:)
