Just curious on thoughts around the board on this. I just am stumped on whether he's a 4 year guy or maybe a 2 and done guy. Usually I can see a player and say "that guy has what it takes and has the talent, ability, potential to be an NBA player". Ennis, he is just a very soothing point guard who looks like he's always in control which makes me enjoy his game. But does he have the shot, size, speed to be an NBA player? I'm 50/50 on it.

I dont think he is a 2 and done guy like flynn but i could see him possibly bolting after his junior year depending on how he plays. I question his size to play at the next level. I sure as hell hope he stays 4 years.

The draft is like real estate, it's the greater fool theory, ie Bennett taken number one, need I say more? For him to control the game tonite as a freshman as well as he did my guess is he will get drafted next yr...wild guess your guess is as good as mine...

I'm with rrlbees I think 2-3 years and god I hope he is here for Trevors last go around! That would be great. Like cusetown though I'd take him for the next 15 years id I could.

I still don't know what Cleveland was thinking grabbing him #1. I had the same reaction Bill Simmons had.

Average height of an NBA point guard is 6'1. Tyler is listed at 6'2. He just seems short because we had MCW here last year :)

This is a good point. Just like we aren't that long this year up top. We may never ne 6-6 6-4 again with superb defenders up top, doesn't mean we are not long,

I love Tyler but he is not 6'2". College heights are inflated 2-3 inches. In NBA, players get official height measured, not really a fair comparison.

We'll see when he gets measured - hopefully in 4 years :)

2...as the season goes on he will prove he can knock down shots. amazingly not many NBA point guards can do so. Combine that with his quickness, and ball handling, and he will be a solid prospect. My only question going forward is his ability to cover anyone in the NBA. Right now he is just too thin.

I don't know, he's definitely not gone this year, and I really don't think he's gone next year. His passing isn't close to what the NBA average point guard can do at the moment, which is the issue. The NBA has a glut of great pass first point guards, and I can't think of many teams who want or desire a scoring point guard. Draft Express has him at 22 in the 2015 Draft, which is about right. That's grey territory, he's definitely not on the radar this year, and his status for next year is essentially in flux.

Outlook Cloudy, Ask Again Later

No idea. I think he's sneaky good. By that I mean he has such a mature game now he could get a lot better at individual skills and he might not actually seem all that much better, you know?

I still see him as a 4 year guy. Just not sure if he has the size or athleticism to be a guy that draws 1st round attention from NBA teams as a sophomore or junior.

I don't know. He doesn't seem big enough, quick enough or athletic enough to be a long term NBA player. But if you can play PG, you have a great shot at the NBA. I think he's more of a 4 year player because his upside isn't great at all. In fact, he seems like one of those kids that's not going to improve a ton during his time on campus simply because he was ready to contribute and excel immediately (similar to Devendorf, Gmac, etc). Nothing he does will wow NBA scouts so that's why I find it hard to believe he'll be a kid that leaves early.

too soon to tell . . . but I think probably yes, a 4 year guy. PG is an in-demand skill in the association, but you don't leave early to have a vagabond career as a backup point, and that is what he projects as right now.

Maybe they'll see him as an Andre Miller type.

I hope he makes the NBA, but based on his height I'm not sure if he could have a long career. But that's why I post here in my bed and not an NBA GM office.
