Ennis a 4 year guy?

I hope he makes the NBA, but based on his height I'm not sure if he could have a long career. But that's why I post here in my bed and not an NBA GM office.

His height his fine, his speed and passing are the real issues.

Maybe they'll see him as an Andre Miller type.
Maybe, but Miller, while also 6'2", has always been thicker and stronger than Ennis is right now. I'm not sure he has the frame to add much more.

There aren't too many players like Miller in the NBA, which is why it'll be hard for Ennis to crack an NBA rotation.

At 6'2" he should do at least 3 years of college and average 20+pts per game to have any chance of actually having an NBA contract lasting more than one year. Lot's of guys get drafted. Very few get to paid contracts that last very long. I think the NBA is ruining a lot good talent by taking them before they are ready. TE is no where new as explosive to the basket as Dion Waiters. If TE leaves after 2 years I would think it would be a big mistake.

Same thing with Grant. Grant has no outside shot. One more year at least if not two. He needs a consistent 3-point shot. I am worried about CJ getting drafted. He's a great player but he needs to start making more 3's to do well in the NBA draft.

Definitely at least 2, probably at least 3. As long as he isnt a 5 year guy(keep those grades up Tyler), I'm happy.

Is he listed at 6'2? He looks a little shorter than that. Then again, I've never seen him in person. Flying up for the Indiana game next week.

Too early to tell but he does have the skillset to play in the NBA. He has the poise and maturity. The ability to drive and finish with nifty moves. And an improving 3 point shot. High bball iq.

I think his stock will rise or fall depending on how the season plays out.

Just curious on thoughts around the board on this. I just am stumped on whether he's a 4 year guy or maybe a 2 and done guy. Usually I can see a player and say "that guy has what it takes and has the talent, ability, potential to be an NBA player". Ennis, he is just a very soothing point guard who looks like he's always in control which makes me enjoy his game. But does he have the shot, size, speed to be an NBA player? I'm 50/50 on it.

Except for CJ making the second round and being the next KJ, I don't see any NBA players on this team. My prediction is everyone is a 4 yr player.

Very good player - and don't think this diminishes how much I like his game - but he's not an elite athlete and does not have the quickness/handle that many PGs in the NBA possess.

I don't think he'll "wow" many scouts with his physical ability, which will likely push him out of the lottery in most draft classes.

I like his offensive game much more for college than I did MCW's. Time will tell but he probably stays for 2-3.

Dos if we have a deep tournament run. The 2014 class is also a pretty stacked class.

I love Tyler but he is not 6'2". College heights are inflated 2-3 inches. In NBA, players get official height measured, not really a fair comparison.
Tyler officially measured at the LeBron Camp last year at 6'2 with shoes on. CJ was also at the same camp and measured at 6'7.5 with shoes on as well.

I'll be very surpised if Tyler is here for less than than 3 years. Let's not forget that he committed here with MCW possibly still a question mark to return. He doesn't seem to me as the type to leave unless he has a great reason to (Top pick) and I am not sure he is an elite enough athlete for an NBA team to pick him that high. I do think he will be an excellent college PG.

Haven't got time to read the rest of this thread right now but this is right where I'm at. I look and I see a very solid 4 year starting PG. I'm not sure he has that one skill extraordinary that makes him an early entry PG. But the more games he has like last night the closer he is to the league. I think we get 2 no question and likely 3. Maybe it will depend on how many titles we've won!

Yeah I see Tyler sticking around for 3 years at worst, I think. Guys his size are a lot less likely to leave early and go lotto than bigger dudes.

Obviously lotto isn't the only part of the equation, but last year Trey Burke was a lotto pick at 6-1. He stayed 2 years, and was one of the best players in the country as a frosh. No guys his size went lotto in 2012. It's not a totally scientific study by any means, but it's a lot harder when you're a shorter guy.

You're insane. Fair is a first rounder (far better than kj) and grant is off the charts.

Define "off the charts"? He is an NBA athlete but he hasn't shown any NBA level skills has he? Post game - non existent. Shooting - below average. Handle - below avg for an NBA wing. I think he would go in the first round but he is like a Chris Singleton at this point - garbage man on O, potentially above avg defender (we don't know) and rebounder.

As for CJ he is a borderline NBA player in my opinion. Great college player though...

I'm hoping at least 3. Ennis strikes me as having a lot of similarities to Kendall Marshall. I think Ennis is a better shooter though. Marshall made UNC go and Ennis makes us go. Despite being drafted high, Marshall was bounced around and may not even be in the NBA at the moment (I know the Wizards waived him, not sure if he got picked up). I don't want to see Ennis turn into Marshall.

I don't know if he is insane. I think the draft sites have CJ in the 2nd round and Grant in the teens.

The recent track record for NBA pg's who aren't off the charts athletes isn't great. Kendall Marshall, Marcus Williams, and Acie Law come to mind. I guess Rubio has done well (35% shooting aside). All those guys got drafted in the first round though and most of them came out early. If Ennis can develop into a really good shooter, which seems at least plausible, I could see him being a 2-3 year guy. But, I'm basing that off 5 games so who knows.

Yeah, and even Marshall and Rubio are 6-4 or 6-5. Williams is listed at 6-3.

For me, I see a shorter PG, who doesn't have blowaway athletic skills. Obviously anything can happen, but him going pro after 2 years, short of some personal situation where he needs money or isn't doing well academically, seems unlikely to me.

Rubio is an elite level passer though, which Ennis isn't close to.

Fair's shooting % is sending off red flags left and right. He needs to stop being wasteful if he wants to get back into the late first round.

He'll stay until he's a shoe-in lottery pick. In a selfish way, I hope we have him for all 4 years.
