ESPN experts showing Duke mad love

I for one am shocked that a team that has one of the greatest coaches of all time, a top returning player, and the best recruiting class in the country is being predicted to do well.

Obviously I'm tired of them, but I'd probably pick them to win also

Ucla in the final four, I love how people give their final four picks now, when no one even knows what the brackets will look like, three of your final four teams could wind up in the same region, its dumb.

Their rotation this year might be the best I've seen in I don't know how long, maybe this century. 2009 UNC or one of those Florida teams close?

2012 UK was pretty ridiculous, more because of the top line talent. 15 UK as well; super deep.

Well the good news is the preseason number 1 hasn't won the title since the Hansbrough/Lawson/Green Tarheels.

I don't think they are nearly as good as those teams.

Duke is going to be fascinating this year. On one hand great guard play is probably the best determinent for reaching a FF and Duke may have the best collection of guards in the country. But most of those great backcourts had 1-2 true point guards that helped lead them to FF. Duks last title team had 2 guys who could play point in Cook and Tyus. As great as their guards are likely to be this year, not sure any of them are true point guards. That could be an achilles as much as the injuries to their young bigs...

I don't know, its a ridiculous mix of experience and youth. Have 4 guys returning that avg'd over 10ppg last year including Allen who might be the best player in the country. Add in 2 of the top 3 recruits in the country, 1 more in the top 10 and another in the top 20. Not sure I've seen a mix like that before.

I completely agree with you. I hate Duke. I can't stress that enough.

If a college basketball "expert" isn't picking them #1, then they're no expert. They are unquestionably the best team on paper. Doesn't mean they can't be beat or get upset early in the tourney, but without seeing any teams play, there's no good reason not to pick them preseason #1 and the early favorite to win it all.
