ESPNU ALL ACCESS

Thanks for the input on Hicks. Like I said, I don' t know anything about him beyond what I saw on the show. He's sharp on the speed bag!

Think I read that he was a power lifter for a long time.

Unwarranted hate.

From what I understand GROB thought Hicks was training the kids too hard and made him cut back his training ways.
^^This. GROB cut the weight training time in half to allow for 30 minutes of story time, followed by 20 minutes of nap time. Each player's parents had to supply them with their own nap mats.

This would be funny if it weren't also true! :bang:

Great look behind the ropes. Perles and Daoust are exactly what you want to see out of your line coaches - high energy and demanding. I don't know much about Hicks, but I'd prefer a S&C coach who led by example, i.e. was a ripped up monster himself. I remember watching All Access with Alabama and their S&C coach was this stark raving madman of a redneck who looked like he could put up some weight himself. He pushed the Bama players and they really responded. Again, I don't know much about Hicks other than the 5 minutes they showed him, but he doesn't strike me as the kind of guy that the players would push themselves for (except for maybe Hickey based on his article, but that seems more like it's Hickey's will than Hicks' motivation). McDonald was shown a little bit, but I never got the sense that he was very hands on during practice. It seemed like DeAndre Smith, Moore and Lester dominate the conversation during practice. That's probably just TV editing though.

Hicks looks like he will get anything out of his kids and an out of work journeyman is just what you want to see.

So much for superficial imagery.

Once upon a time, every thread was scattered with at least one "Fire Will Hicks!"

Not sure what this means. I was only referring to Hicks' fatness and how that translates as an S&C coach. As others have informed me, it's apparently not an issue.

Seems to be a pretty good fit there ... but since our players attend real classes, let's stick with Will Hicks.

I'm okay without Alabama's trainer. I'm not even sure that guy is legitimately a human being. No one else in the world acts like that, I don't know how anyone takes him seriously.

Just watched the show for a second time, and just loved it!
Hopefully a local station or TimeWarner picks this idea up and runs with it.

I'm still amazed how much the lineman were benchpressing.

If you have time warner cable - this show is available on the "sports and fitness on demand channel" Under espnu, college football and all access or syracuse. its also available on the time warner app - under espnu on demand.
