Two days to go in the window.
Tottenham scoop up Xavi Simons from Leipzig, who Chelsea had dallied over all summer. He's a fine player. Terrific dribbler, able to make passes in tight spaces, a lot like Christopher Nkunku, but 5 years younger. Great fit for Spurs, too.
Andreas Pereira, who got lots of points for me in Fantasy Football, has left Spurs for Palmeiras in Brazil.
Arsenal have signed central defender Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusenn for 52M. Very good center back, and only 23 years old; not too young, ready for this move.
Man United move Rasmus Hojland to Napoli for 44M. Antonio Conte likes a target man up front. He's a good coach to try to get the best of the 22 year old. He still has plenty of time to improve.
Real Betis want badly to keep Antony, who was on loan there last year from Man United and did quite well. Betis is having trouble with both the transfer fee, and with Antony's wages.
BREAKING NEWS - United cave and sell him for only 25M.
One of my favorite Chelsea guys over the years, Cesar ("Dave") Azpilicueta, has left Athletico Madrid at the end of his contract, and just signed with Sevilla. Good luck to him. Great guy!
Oliver Glasner is saying that it's too late in the window for Crystal Palace to let Marc Guehi go (to Liverpool, or anywhere). There's just not enough time to find a suitable replacement. We'll see if management listens to him. If Guehi is sold, I would guess that Glasner leaves at the end of the season for a more ambitious team.
Kobbie Mainoo has asked United to authorize sending him out on loan. Napoli have interest in buying him outright, and may soon make a move.
Rubin Amorin seems to be begging to be fired. First, he says he hates the job, then he says he hates his players. He may be the first to go, and he's doesn't seem to mind.
Rumor is that Liverpool is about to make a 130M bid for Alexander Isak of Newcastle.
AC Milan has told Man City they would pay 15M for central defender Manuel Ikanji.
Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson (who has scored 30 goals in the last 2 seasons, it should be noted ...) is of interest to Bayern, Aston Villa and Juventus. Chelsea will only sell him; no loan deals. They expect to make a decision within the next 24 hours.
With Chelsea having sold Nkunku to AC Milan, they don't really have to sell Jackson if they don't get a suitable offer. He would give them something different to DeLap and Joao Pedro, as a more direct runner.
Nuno Espirito Santo keeps his job after meeting with his Greek owner. The real issue, apparently, is between Nuno and Edu, the director of football recruiting & operations. Apparently these two got off to a terrible start when they first met last year, and it's only gotten worse.
We're right at the end of the window, and one team who has failed to raise any money from an over-sized squad is Arsenal. No sales of note so far this summer, although Marseille might make Aleksandr Zinchenko their first sale, and now that they signed Hincapie, they might sell Jakub Kiwior to Porto, who have expressed interest.
Crystal Palace sign 22 year old winger Yeremy Pino from Villareal for 25M. Looks like a nice solid pick up.
Liverpool's fullback Kostas Tzimikas is taking his physical for a transfer to Roma.
Chelsea offload right back Alfie Gilchrist to West Brom for around 5M.
Jorgen Strand Larsen told Wolves that he wanted to move to Newcastle, but they just scooped up CF Woltemade, the German. Awkward!
West Ham sign MF Mateus Fernandes from Southampton, where the 21 year old Portugal player scored 4 goals and had 7 assists last year. West Ham are also trying to get MF Soungoutou Magassa from Monaco. He's a defensive MF and CB who could add some steel to Graham Potter's midfield.
Nottingham Forest keep strengthening, adding right back Nicolo Savona from Juvenus for around 14M.
