European Football Summer Transfer Window

I can see Vardy to Celtic if we qualify for Champions League.
Need more than Adam Idah and Johnny Kenny up front.

Also makes it easy to decide what jersey to get when I win the Fantasy league this season ;)

Wow, Celtic really bombed out over those 2 legs.

Newcastle signs striker Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart in the Bundesliga, where he had 17 goals and 3 assists in all comps. This makes it more likely that Isak will be sold.

Napoli is getting close to signing Rasmus Hojland from Man United.

back to typical Brendan ball and The Board.
No replacements for Nick Kuhn this summer and Kyogo from January.
I knew we were with no auto-qual for CL this year.

They just put the bare minimum into the club because of how terrible Rangers are and have started under Russell Martin this season.
Sunday's Glasgow Derby will be interesting with both sets of fans PO'd at their clubs.

Two days to go in the window.

Tottenham scoop up Xavi Simons from Leipzig, who Chelsea had dallied over all summer. He's a fine player. Terrific dribbler, able to make passes in tight spaces, a lot like Christopher Nkunku, but 5 years younger. Great fit for Spurs, too.

Andreas Pereira, who got lots of points for me in Fantasy Football, has left Spurs for Palmeiras in Brazil.

Arsenal have signed central defender Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusenn for 52M. Very good center back, and only 23 years old; not too young, ready for this move.

Man United move Rasmus Hojland to Napoli for 44M. Antonio Conte likes a target man up front. He's a good coach to try to get the best of the 22 year old. He still has plenty of time to improve.

Real Betis want badly to keep Antony, who was on loan there last year from Man United and did quite well. Betis is having trouble with both the transfer fee, and with Antony's wages.
BREAKING NEWS - United cave and sell him for only 25M.

One of my favorite Chelsea guys over the years, Cesar ("Dave") Azpilicueta, has left Athletico Madrid at the end of his contract, and just signed with Sevilla. Good luck to him. Great guy!

Oliver Glasner is saying that it's too late in the window for Crystal Palace to let Marc Guehi go (to Liverpool, or anywhere). There's just not enough time to find a suitable replacement. We'll see if management listens to him. If Guehi is sold, I would guess that Glasner leaves at the end of the season for a more ambitious team.

Kobbie Mainoo has asked United to authorize sending him out on loan. Napoli have interest in buying him outright, and may soon make a move.

Rubin Amorin seems to be begging to be fired. First, he says he hates the job, then he says he hates his players. He may be the first to go, and he's doesn't seem to mind.

Rumor is that Liverpool is about to make a 130M bid for Alexander Isak of Newcastle.

AC Milan has told Man City they would pay 15M for central defender Manuel Ikanji.

Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson (who has scored 30 goals in the last 2 seasons, it should be noted ...) is of interest to Bayern, Aston Villa and Juventus. Chelsea will only sell him; no loan deals. They expect to make a decision within the next 24 hours.

With Chelsea having sold Nkunku to AC Milan, they don't really have to sell Jackson if they don't get a suitable offer. He would give them something different to DeLap and Joao Pedro, as a more direct runner.

Nuno Espirito Santo keeps his job after meeting with his Greek owner. The real issue, apparently, is between Nuno and Edu, the director of football recruiting & operations. Apparently these two got off to a terrible start when they first met last year, and it's only gotten worse.

We're right at the end of the window, and one team who has failed to raise any money from an over-sized squad is Arsenal. No sales of note so far this summer, although Marseille might make Aleksandr Zinchenko their first sale, and now that they signed Hincapie, they might sell Jakub Kiwior to Porto, who have expressed interest.

Crystal Palace sign 22 year old winger Yeremy Pino from Villareal for 25M. Looks like a nice solid pick up.

Liverpool's fullback Kostas Tzimikas is taking his physical for a transfer to Roma.

Chelsea offload right back Alfie Gilchrist to West Brom for around 5M.

Jorgen Strand Larsen told Wolves that he wanted to move to Newcastle, but they just scooped up CF Woltemade, the German. Awkward!

West Ham sign MF Mateus Fernandes from Southampton, where the 21 year old Portugal player scored 4 goals and had 7 assists last year. West Ham are also trying to get MF Soungoutou Magassa from Monaco. He's a defensive MF and CB who could add some steel to Graham Potter's midfield.

Nottingham Forest keep strengthening, adding right back Nicolo Savona from Juvenus for around 14M.

Him Nelson Viera Zinchenko all can leave. Tbh if I need any of those players Arsenal will probably take a cut rate price.

There may be late interest in Viera and Zinchenko.

Chelsea with 13 guys sold so far this summer, raising 286M. Wow.

And they have 8 signings that have cost them 280M.

When you consider that the teams can amortize their signings over 5 years, their sales pretty much allow them to spend a billion dollars.

While that would include agent fees and salaries, it gives them a ton of overhead to make more deals under Premier League rules.

But because of past sins, they have to break even this summer in order to be able to register all their guys for Champions League.

With only a couple days left, it's pretty much "mission accomplished".

Chelsea had lined up a 15M loan deal (a record amount) for Nico Jackson to go to Bayern, with a 65M option to buy - a tremendous piece of business. Jackson is in Munich for his physical, and Chelsea are trying to cancel the deal, now that Liam DeLap just pulled a hamstring. German press say that so long as Jackson passes his physical, Bayern intend to sign the papers. DeLap is expected to miss 8 weeks, so it's a bad one.

This should be interesting! I thought it was a bad idea to be forcing him out, and not just because there are 2 other guys. People get hurt every season, and each of these guys has a distinct style, which are complimentary.

Chelsea sign Alejandro Garnacho from Man United for 40M. He and Jamie Gittens will share the left wing in the Chelsea attack. I would have preferred Xavi Simons, personally, who has joined Tottenham.

Everyone is waiting for Alexander Isak's move to Liverpool from Newcastle for a reported 130M.

Liverpool offer 35M + 10% sell on fee to Crystal Palace for Marc Guehi. Palace want 35M + 5M in achievable incentives. Guehi is in the last year of his deal. They seem awfully close, so I expect this to get done by Monday.

Chelsea have bid 40M for Fermin Lopez of Barcelona, an attacking midfielder. Why didn't you make any offer for Simons? He's better.

Fiorentina sign Tariq Lamptey from Brighton. A bit diminutive in MF, but a good motor, good at winning back the ball.

It's almost deadline day. What's happening?

Liverpool sign CF Alexander Isak from Newcastle for a British record fee of 130M.

LB Kostas Tsimikas completes his loan move from Liverpool to Roma.

Chelsea left scrambling and recall Marc Guiu from Sunderland loan. They cancelled the loan deal with Bayern for Nicolas Jackson, but Jackson remains in Munich, hoping that Bayern will make a permanent move.

Fulham sign Brazilian winger Kevin from Shaktar Donetsk for around 40M.

Aston Villa appear to have had a gentlemen's agreement with goal keeper Emi Martinez that he could leave for a suitable offer this summer (30-40M), but no such offers have materialized.

Aston Villa appear to have failed to get MF Marco Asensio from PSG, but the former Real Madrid man appears to be going to Fenerbace in Turkiye, as Aston Villa were having too many problems making the deal work from a financial compliance standpoint.

Villa are reportedly about to sign former Man United defender Victor Lindelof, who is undergoing a physical at AV in Birmingham this evening.

Nottingham Forest is stocking up on players from Brazilian Club World Cup side Botafogo, signing their GK John Victor. He is their third signing from the Brazilian club, and they may sign a fullback from Botafogo before the window closes.

Crystal Palace are looking to sign Axel Disasi from Chelsea as a likely replacement for Marc Guehi, although their coach OIiver Glasner is publicly saynig Guehi won't be sold.

Aston Villa are also working on a loan deal for Jaden Sancho from Manchester United.

Fulham are trying to get winger Samuel Chukwueze from AC Milan.

Aston Villa also trying to get Luis Paqueta from West Ham for 50M. Paqueta gave an odd goal celebration, miming talking on the phone, which leads supporters to think he's going, going, gone.

United still trying to get a goal keeper, still talking to Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp, and Emi Martinez of Aston Villa with less than 24 hours to go.

What would be peak awesomeness is if they took Mainoo off Manure's hands. Amorim is a freaking moron if he kind fin a place for Mainoo in his squad. I am thoroughly enjoying Manure's complete flailing and thrashing... I thought they had hit bottom with Ter Stegen's 4-2-2-2-2-2-2-2, but I am thrilled and so excited to report that I was wrong. Amorim has managed to dig out a new low for the club.

Mainoo would be funny, but there's still rumors of making a last second push for Morgan Rogers, who I like more... I don't think it'll happen this window, but wow.
