for not blocking? If Erv blocked his DB Ishmael would've had a huge gainer and maybe takes it to the house. The was a big missed opportunity.

Which play?

I saw it. Problem is Erv is typically a great blocker downfield so it was a bit ridiculous. Ben lewis on the other hand is shaky at best.

huh? what was a bit ridiculous?

Which play?

4th Q. Ish made a really nice grab as the DB gambled and missed. Ish turned and headed down the sideline. It was Erv, Erv's man and Ish all alone. All Erv had to do was turn around and get in the way of his man, he didn't do anything and his DB tackled Ish out of bounds. Ish got up clearly yelling at Erv to block.

If Erv blocks the guy Ish would have had a huge gainer. Picked up 19 on the play, had a chance to break it with the block.

It was ridiculous of Ish getting on Erv's case. I have seen Ish throw a few tantrums this season and coaches have had to talk to him on the sidelines after. I guess maybe it wasn't ridiculous, they should be tight enough to own something like missing a block..but Ish has his own issues i guess is my point.

probably stemming from him being 1/5th of the passing offense

Hate when guys show too much passion for winning ;)

I thought it was justified.

Why would quality top wideouts want to come here when your best wideout averages three catches a game and ends up blocking for misdirection options and reverses?
Ask the top rated TE in all of high school. I think kids are smart enough to see that our offense is slowly building..and that with exceptional talent we will be able to air it out more.

I think you have to be a bit more fair to the staff.

Their 5th year QB - the leader of the offense - goes down almost immediately.

They have to play an 18 year old frosh who joined the team in July.

They also have to play a walk-on QB who also just got to school.

You just can't wing it all over the place under such circumstances.

I suspect that young WR recruits see that we have something good developing with Eric Dungey and will want to play with him.

So, that's why, I think, a quality WR would want to come to Syracuse University.

Pretty sure you already created a seperate thread on this subject today.

They're good buddies-I think it's fine and actually good to have some expectations
