Sorry. Eduard.

I guess I'm getting way ahead of myself on this young man, but I'm really excited about his verbal.

I noticed that when T. Hunt played so well against Wagner and Tulane there was a genuine level of excitement over him on this board and at the Dome that I had not notice in a long time.

I recall that before the game started against Clemson when Terrel's photo appeared on the message board that the crowd reacted pretty noticeably.

It occurred to me that the Syracuse Football Fan has been waiting for an athletic QB - like McPherson, Graves, McNabb - to run the Orange offense, and that when it appeared that Terrel Hunt might be that guy, many of us let out a lot of pent up emotion.

It became clear to me how much we crave a high quality QB who can make plays.

Terrel has come back to Earth and so have we.

So, when I look at AE's film and offers I can't help but get excited about him - maybe he is what we have all been waiting for since Donovan played his last game in the Dome.

Lets hope so and Alin, wherever you are know that if you can play you will become a god in the Carrier Dome.

You can't imagine how much adulation you will receive as the Syracuse University QB.

So hurry up and get here!

Reading the scouting report on Edouard on ESPN gets me really, really excited about the guy. Sounds like he's got room to grow still, and he's got great arm strength and accuracy in addition to being a good athlete.

I assume his name is pronounced like 'Allen Edward' (or close enough) or am I wrong? If it is, it's kind of funny that we stole a commit from Miami named "Edward" this year since they took Edwards last year, and that we took someone else's QB commit named "Allen" after losing out on a QB commit who flipped named Allen last year.

My head hurts.

you guys seem to forget that A.J. Long threw for 37 t.d.'s with one interception in his jr. year.

I don't what his current stats are this year, but someone said thy are mainly a running team and A.J. might have been hurt early on.

these were his stats before last weekends game and he was hurt and did not play in his first few games.

Long has completed 22-of-38 passing attempts (58 percent) for 441 yards. He has connected for eight touchdowns with one interception. Long has rushed for208 yards on 35 attempts -- and has scored five touchdowns.

If we are just comparing physical tools between the 2 QB commits the clear advantage goes to Edouard. However as we all know there is much more that goes into the game of football the physical tools. Just this past weekend AJ led his team on a game winning drives converting three 4th downs, including the game winner. Needless to say we just need 1 of these current kids to turn out. You have to assume the odds are in our favor, but then again they have gotten in the way before.

Agree, OPA. Let's just hope he ends up here. He is that good, from his film at least, and seems to have all the pertinent attributes for the position. The big boys aren't going to let him end up in CNY without rolling out the red carpets.

I think the QB competition next year will be as wide open as it was this year.

Terrel Hunt

Austin Wilson

Mitch Kimble

A. J. Long

Alin Eduard

Can anyone handicap them?

i've changed my tune on dual threat qbs. 15 years ago, most dual threats couldn't throw the ball. I thought it was safer to just get some short guy who can chuck it from the shotgun all day.

high school coaches took the easy way out with those guys back then and just ran ran ran. innovative coaches in more competitive states finally figured out that mobile QBs can run and throw in a spread. now there are really are dual threats

i think our problem is that northeastern coaches are behind the curve. not as competitive, you can still win by running some old fashioned never throw offense.

i think people up here are dinosaurs too. when we find a guy who can throw and run (broyld), we automatically dismiss his throwing. well it's just rochester, well it's just high school, well a college playbook has to be way more complex than rush henrietta's

we still have it in our heads that qbs need to be developed. they already have been in high school and in the summer.

hopefully it's changing and we can stop being ashamed to run a "high school" offense with a young guy

Did you just blast hunt for missing an open Kobena by 10 yards?

Did you see Ashton underthrow a wide open Kobena by 15 yards?

Be consistent.

Any time you depend on a feshmen especially at qb your team is in trouble. My best bet is that Hunt gets over the hump and iron out his issues this season and uses it to grab the starting job next year. If not we see what Kimble or Hunt has. Thinking a freshman is going to come in and do a better job than rs sophomore is naive.

reps matter.

I think the incoming Freshmen have little to no chance to start if they don't graduate early and get here for Spring practice

Tanya Harding's ex-husband could. Just give him a baton. ;)

I'll be excited when he signs and makes the grades. Anything else is putting the cart before the horse.
