What a difference Melo makes in the team chemistry & cohesiveness. He came back & looked like he didn't miss a beat except for a little bit in the first minute or two.

I would give him & MCW my co-players of the game, both had tremendous impacts. MCW's early treys really opened things up & got us going. MCW played great throughout. I was surprised Jimmy took him out in the first half when he was hot & dominating the game. I didn't get that substitution, but anyways, MCW got a nice second half run & picked up where he left off.

I think MCW deserves a shot in the rotation against all comers & not just against the mid-pack & weaker teams. He has earned at least a shot at some minutes come Hoya time.

CJ had a really impressive outing & Dion played very solid as well. Nice backup 5 minutes from both Rak & BMK. Rak hit the glass very strongly.

Kris played very solidly all around getting points, boards, and dimes. Still in an outside shooting slump.

Scoop had a few to many TOs, but he shot well & dished well.

James is still in a shooting slump & I disliked his needless slap at the end. How can you do that when they aren't even running a play & the clock is winding down ???

Brandon is back to leaning in on his shots. When he does that he shoots about 10%, when he goes up straight & strong he shoots about 40% from long range. He has just got to break that bad habit once & for all. Today we did not need him, but there will be other games when he will have to play well for us to win - see the WVU game.

The Triche "now you see him, now you don't" routine is worrisome. In March, we're going to need him when the bench shrinks. It's not going to be MCW out there in the sweet 16.

I agree with your comment & that is too bad because MCW seems to play very steady even when not lighting it up like today, whereas, any of the three ahead of him are capable of having a sub-par outing & when that happens there is no reason not to let MCW get a few minutes against anyone.

Fab really didn't show any rust. Funny how JB seemed to be doing his best Bill Belichick the past few days in regard to Fab's PT/readiness - perhaps in honor of Super Bowl week.

It is crazy to think how much difference one player makes. Even Dion looked fantastic again, after a pretty big slump. Wow.

Everyone played a lot looser and a lot more aggressively on defense. All because of fab.

I have to admit I was very pleasantly surprised by Melo's play. I thought it might take a little more time for him to work back into it. Really glad he got this game under his belt before Georgetown. He may have been able to come back and play well against Georgetown as the first game back but glad that's not the situation we have to deal with.

Being able to practice sure helped
