I have spent today in Maryland getting a detailed overview of the facility and football program battles...between two different HIGH SCHOOLS. (Gonzaga, St John's)
I was hearing about the recruitment of a QB...who is 12 and hose Dad quarterbacked in the ACC. Twelve years old for high school.
Today made me realize just how point of entry the facility issue is in recruiting...and again, in high school. In Maryland.
I know the Barrels and OPAs have beat the drum here, but speaking as one without a deeper context of the issue, today I really got a whiff of how two HS institutions are in the arms race. Made me realize how much I don't realize the true facility issue at all.
