Few Thoughts for Attendance (Not Including On Field Performance)

Don't get me started on parking. People lose their minds here because it's $10 to park in a garage within a short walk of the Dome. Meanwhile I go to Gillette and pay $50 for the privilege of parking on a hill in a dirt lot where I also have to walk a mile past speeding traffic on Route 1 to get to the stadium.
Do people really consider $20 parking expensive? If you're going to just one game, that's nothing. For season tickets, just buy a yearly pass. Simple.

Hi Pat, welcome to SyacuseFan.com! I take it you haven't been here long.

;)

In real live someone must cover the cost of giving something away for free or at a reduced price and I have not seen any volunteers step up to the plate yet.
I honestly cannot remember 100 years ago or so when I was a student if football tickets were included in tuition or not. But the bottom line to increase attendance is a better product on the field. Florida State and a few of the other remaining home games would be close to sell outs if our record was 5 &1 or 4 &2.

yearly pass isnt cheaper? at least mine wasnt? I think parking is crazy expensive, you can park in a garage for 3-4 hrs for half that cant you? the fair didnt cost $20 and thats an all day thing.

Well if you don't like the prices, then don't go, and invest your money elsewhere. That kind of pricing is par to the course of any major college or pro athletic team.

In all my adult life, by design, I HAVE NEVER payed to park. If that is your complaint, find a free spot, and go to the game.

Parking and Parking Prices, should not be an issue of Attendance.

Park on one of the side streets off Euclid, and walk. That's what I do it's a 10 minute walk tops.

Well what about during the Winter or Cold, or raining or whatever ? Walk faster !!!

what people pay and what people think is fair dont have to be the same thing.

Dollar pitchers and nickel shots. And don't card.

I guarantee a lively student section.

And unlike Fenway, there's no great public transportation option

attendance isn't the issue everyone wants to make it out to be. I was at Syracuse during the supposed "Salad" days of 94-98 (multiple bowl teams, mcnabb, etc) and same issues were around then. A few sell outs, a few crap crowds, and a bunch of in between sized crowds. And students back then were hungover for noon starts and bored by the third quarter. This isn't anything new. I think the issue is there wasn't a message board back then to complain about it.

If they make them free, same kids will go to the games.
Was our attendance as low then as it is now?

Avg. Attendance '94-'98:
1994 47,746
1995 43,276
1996 48,177
1997 45,865
1998 47,898

Here's an insane idea-

however the team played for Villanova, Maryland, and Louisville...yeah, do the opposite of that.

It's. not. hard. to. get.
