UPDATE: The Committee is down to the last few teams in the selection process. The field is nearly complete.

The most stressful part is the committee knows if we are in for good/out for good right now.

There's only 1 sure-fire scenario tomorrow that a team loses an at-large spot, and another iffy spot:
1) UConn losing will knock out an at-large bid
2) Ark-LR could possibly knock out an at-large, but much more unlikely

Let's face it boys, the bracket is 98% done, and we are either in it or we aren't and it's probably not changing before tomorrow at 5:30

Makes sense. There has been very little that happened today (Michigan, Temple and San Diego lost). They should have had an initial list done by around 5:00, and now just reviewing it for the 3 above teams that loss today.

There is literally nothing happening tomorrow involving any teams right on the bubble. They are all done playing. They just need to determine who the last team in is, in case Memphis beats UConn.

Our fate will be (has been) determined tonight. They can concentrate on seeding and bracketing tomorrow.

While they have an extremely tough choice in terms of selections for the at large field, they are lucky that none of them are playing tomorrow. They can close the deal on it tonight. A contingency can easily be built if Memphis wins.

Anyone have a friend of a friend of a friend on the committee?

Not impressed. Joe Lunardi was 100% certain on our fate by Wednesday at 2:30, and didn't even need to know what any other teams did.

I'm not sure our fate has been sealed tonight. I can see us sitting as the last team tonight. That could be taken by Memphis. I'd also like to see St Joes lose. I'm sure they are in already but on the slight off chance they aren't...

Yes

Actually, yes. My son is the Faculty Athletic Rep at UNC-Asheville and knows all the coaches/players in all sports. He also knows the Athletic Director well. She, indeed, is on the selection committee. I have no inside word, however.

SJU? Are you serious? Even if they lose tomorrow they will be no lower than a nine seed. They're not even among the last eight in.

Do you have anything important going on now that precludes you to make a quick phone call of encouragement in similar manner to the encouragement I'm giving you now? I mean this is the one time a year it matters, and youre the only person on here with a path of access. Do we need to motivate you with money? ;)

Just kidding...kind of

You and I discussed this on Thursday and the consensus was SJU needed to win its quarterfinal against GW. Well they did that and beat Dayton to boot.

The beauty of the NCAA tournament is we get to see who is legit and who isn't. I went to the Dayton/SJU game with my son who happens to attend SJU. They played lights out. The four teams from the A-10 that make the tourney may do well, may not - who knows? But I enjoy betting on these games and if SJU is somehow matched up with a Duke, ND or Pitt (maybe Miami too) I will be more than happy to place a bet on SJU. They can play with any of those squads.

Sports center is wasting a ton of time on the NBA. What the bleep... more frustrating than reading this
At least it's basketball. All ESPN radio talks about is the NFL. Even on Monday they will give the dance two hours and then talk about the Steelers offensive line needs for two hours.
