Final AP (20) / Coaches (22) Polls for Jan 21

It will be interesting to see where we are ranked pre-season in the ACC. I doubt we will be in the top half. Too many unanswered questions and no experienced quarterback.

The perception is going to be that we are a one trick pony and we don’t have McCord anymore though the respect didn’t actually arrive until the very end this past season. So we will be rated probably in the middle somewhere. This schedule next year looks so rough, but wow is there an opportunity to really make a statement next season.

Enjoy the Miami win and finally having an offense for the Dome. It was Dinos D and BC Stan and Pitt aren't good losses it means your middle pack of a bad conference. Great season but the ACC deserves no love.
You are obsessed with Dino’s D.

It’s interesting to see who ranked Syracuse and who didn’t. Air Force and Kansas coaches didn’t even put us in. But Odom had us at 15 ahead of his UNLV. Not a lot of love from MAC schools.

Tim Albin had us at 20 and Ohio at 21. Like we beat you by 16 albeit on our home field, the first game of a new regime. Maybe slot Ohio at most 25, but right behind us lol.

I think it's a fair perception. Our fans pretty much have said that with how much McCord carried our offense and how our defense and special teams were below average at best. Our staff needs to prove they can reload annually for at least a couple years before we deserve preseason respect.

army being all over interesting. but I'm not sure of they play the top 36 they win more than a couple upsets.

SU can count on at the very least the Tennessee HC and writers to vote them into the Top 10.

Tim left Ohio for Charlotte, so parting gift to his old school. I'll allow it this time.

A little unexpected that Lance Leipold, former Buffalo HC for five seasons, would pay a little more attention to SU and put them in the top 25.

Narduzzi put Miami at #11. Two other coaches (including the brilliant Tony Elliot) put them at #13.
Just bizarre.

On the other hand, I like how Jedd Fisch thinks but I would have included them in the top 25.

The coaches fraternity is small, I bet a lot of these guys have egos and let them get in the way of voting unbiasedly. Like imagine a HC, with some young position coach that marches to his own drum, does things their way, parts ways a season or two later, then becomes HC down the line with success.

You telling me these guys don’t remember that and vote with those biases?

Kirby having SU at 25 BELOW UNLV and Miami is insane

I don't think it's that deep.

Realistically, these coaches can't pay attention to anything outside of their bubbles, they aren't watching games in other conferences that aren't affecting their teams, and are probably looking at standings or having an admin assistant submit for them.
