This is Marrone's offense, whatever the it is.

He's got 14 games to figure it out, then the heat is on.

No, the heat is on now. Rightfully so. We hired an offensive guy and our offense is downright offensive.

"The reality is that Rutgers has had one good football season in its entire existence and has been nationally irrelevant in basketball for the past generation. Success and tradition matter, and Rutgers has little to none of either. Considering what Rutgers has accomplished on the field, it is lucky to be in the Big East in football and basketball." - Pete Thamel, Pulitzer Prize winning writer for the NY Times

It's hard to say. I do belive it's Marrone's offense and i see him on the sidelines with that laminated sheet of plays but i'm not sure who's calling the plays. It has to be Hackett or else why give him the OC title and the raise. Plays might be run through Marrone's headset but I can't tell if he's overriding them or not. I don't believe he is. However at times the play calling looks like it's based on a week's worth of gameplanning which is probably designed in large part by Marrone.

Lets say Marrone takes over OC duties, he still needs a QB coach and still needs someone in the box. Hackett is a good guy for that because he's a yes man. But if Marrone goes grey then he's got to let the guy do his job.

On another note, the last two weeks I've seen Marrone barking heavily at Anselmo. Don't know what that's about but it is curious.

Dump Hackett, Anselmo and Moore. Go get an OC like Friedgen, a young hot shot ST coach and someone that can recruit PA/NJ and NE, don't care how good of a coach he is really.

He barked at him this week about the Kobena personal foul. Anselmo then in turn got into Kobena's face.

Doug continues to make the same mistake each week. Simply put he has failed to realize that we are never going to be a good running team this year. Here we are 10 games into the season and he has failed to admit this and to change our game plan accordingly. He always talks about putting the team in managable situations, second and 6-5 Third and 4 or less. Well the best chance this team has at getting to a second and 6 or better is to throw the ball on first down. I mean how many times does it take over 10 weeks to realize that Ant off tackle on first down isnt working? Doug wants it to work, wants his line to dominate, wants Ant to be any everydown back but guess what 10 games in and most likely close to 30 plus first down Ant off tackle plays and he still doesnt get it. My fear is he never will.

Two things. Kobena was out of control tonight. He shoved Flemming tonight on the sideline pretty good ( I think it was Flemming) after that PF penalty. I thought a fight was going to break out. I like the passion the kid has and he's a freshman so I let it slide but it was definitely something to see. Kid has the fire which I think is a good thing.

On hiring a ST coach. You know as well as I do that special teams is a dual role. there's nobody out there who is a young hot shot special teams coach. The problems on specials is a personel issue anyways - at least in my opinion. Kicking is a big issue that no coach can fix. Our guys don't have the legs.

(by the way, I'm not a fan of Kobena returning kicks - I don't think he's any good at it. And Graham, I'm not sure what's up with his refusal or inability to run full steam; on kicks or catches, the way he loafs with the ball it's weird.)

Yep, Kobena almost got into it with Flemming. Flemming said something to him after the PF and Kobena didn't like it.

Hackett is horrible. Absolutely terrible. Why does it take him 3 series before he starts running PA which Nassib actually runs well. Those Bailey runs up the middle were never going to work, so obviously he ran them. I just do not understand What he is calling up in his box. Maybe they are huffing lead paint up there.
