Looks like the Providence Crowd is having a difficult time selling the New New Big East to prospective members. I think most observers felt that BYU was never a given considering the outcome of their flirtation with the Big 12. San Diego State University was believed to be a safe get, however. Maybe not. The local press is raising questions and fan opinion seems to be divided at best. The $ advantages of the BE might not even count for much if California politicians decide that new football revenue can allow them to lighten up on state aid.

In addition to this a columnist in Colorado Springs is now saying the AFA is more than a 50/50 bet to say "No Thanks" to Providence. Folks on the BSU board are saying maybe it's time to put in a call to Tulsa.
