First day of spring practice is in the books! @Coach_Shafer talks to the media about what he saw on the field today.

Some players Shafer mentioned by name: Kelly made nice INT, Whigham ran around good. AJ Long had good practice for early enrollee. Funderburk, Estime, Broyld practiced well. Cooper and Winfield looked good in individual drills but struggled some in the team period.

Shafer hopes QB Mitch Kimble can return to practice in the next week or so. (lower back injury)

Kendall Moore is still wearing No. 87. He'll remain at tight end.

Joe Adam's primary recruiting territories will be Eastern Pa. and NYC.

Some quick spring practice notes: First practice ended 12 minutes early because Hunt had strong command of tempo on offense.
So why not let another QB get out there? Only so much practice time.

They probably have practices scripted minute-by-minute. I'm assuming it was all about T. Hunt today, and they were comfortable with his performance, so they called it a day. I'm fine with that.

Shafer also said WR Adrian Flemming looked good coming off season-ending injury: "I think Flem is going to be a big part of this offense."

Flemming & Funderburk to compete for reps going forward. Both are big-bodied, long-limb receivers. Difference might come down to blocking.

Love positives on day one in past marrone, we'll not always mr sunshine never really praised the team aloud after practice and we know shafer tells it like it is so having positive thoughts after day one is good stuff. I'm very excited about this WR core.

I am beginning to like Nate Mink's reporting. That says a lot coming from a Post Standard basher like my self. Hey Nate, in another decade or two you might be nearly as good as Dave Rahme... maybe.

...or staying healthy.
