Florida State 1-7

For that coin I'd probably just tank it from here and kick my feet up in retirement at the end of the year.
For that kind of money, I would throw caution to the wind. Never punt again. Go for 2pts after every TD. Run razzle dazzle plays over and over. If it works, I’m a genius and I keep my job. If it fails, I walk away with a wheelbarrow full of money.

And bring the waffle house coach on as an assistant, also bring this guy back.

Between the remarkable coaching plan and these clowns, I'd watch.

And there is one that had 3 interceptions with 2 for score in 1 quarter

Just a friendly reminder that including the ACC CG but not ND, FSU is 31-32 in their last 63 games against ACC teams or 38-37 in the last 75. UNC is the last of this season.

76 games is a lot of games to at best be 2 over .500 or at .500 exactly.

This is Norvell's third losing season out of the 5 he's been the head man.

Some one close to the program send this to FB. (I know he is likely well aware of this already)

Couldn't happen to a better program right now. Until the dump their AD, I will have zero respect for FSU, and then it will only slowly be earned.

Most people wait until after a game to make comments. You will be here after our game if we win, right? Oh, and what does this have to do with your school? Have you guys ever, ever, won anything? We have national titles in football, hoop, Lax and soccer? What have you won?

Goes to my son’s high school, saw him play Friday night at homecoming, 56-0 over Johns Creek. So much talent on the team. The QB is committed to Miami so I’d watch that connection.

Wait they are not getting the favorable acc ref calls? I’m shocked. I still remember us getting hosed in Tallahassee

Actually I don't know what it does have to do with 'my school' that you mention. I thought this was about FSU trashing here, and I was mentioning all of SU records at the same time. It may hurt, but it does matter when comparing things. For the Pitt game I was so pissed that I had to turn it off at halftime. As much as I hate FSU some of our, and by our I mean SU has some similar crappy stats. I represent my VT alma mater pretty much only 2 times a year at most, but it was my first Masters Degree, so get over it. And, I've been an SU Football Season ticket holder long before that, as well as a native for over 4 decades. I was born here, and still live here.

Face it, it was a cheap shot - and completely unnecessary. So, get over the feedback.

yeah, that is why your handle says VTAaron. Because you are a tepid Va Tech fan. You took a shot at Syracuse. Okay. I just pointed out that Va tech has never won anything.

I don't understand how these contracts are structured.

Is there no protection for the school on downside risk? If I were a school, I'd want some sort of performance guardrails.
You would think there were more performance requirements. However, without actually reviewing the contracts, the buyout clauses are, perhaps, the best way to gauge the school's rights. That said, time and again, we have seen coaches coast when they have a fat contract with a hefty buyout and cannot produce greater results (Jimbo Fisher?).

It appears that FSU has a similar prospect with Norvell, he's doing less than Fisher did with TAMU. Large buyouts help to protect a team from poaching a great coach but completely hamstrings a team with a bad coach. Not that it is always bad, right Shady?

I bet we start seeing coaching performance clauses and less guaranteed money.

I’ll bet that there is absolutely no chance this happens until there is more clarity around NIL rules, and greater conference stability. Schools have no leverage - in the least stable environment for coaches ever - to make contracts have less upside.

You forgot the cross country and field hockey championships.

Agreed. If someone busts their butt for 20-30 years and gets to the top with generational wealth guaranteed, there's little incentive to grind the same.

I'm sure some would continue pushing, but I wouldn't be one of them .
