Florida State 1-9

Has there EVER been a preseason top 10 team that has completely and totally quit on their season like FSU has?

I mean we’ve seen team fall out of the rankings and have mediocre, or even bad, seasons. But this is a team not trying the entire back half of their schedule.

They should be ashamed, except we know no one associated with Florida State is capable of shame.

I’m here for every second of this 3 month long car crash, tire fire, iceberg sinking, sh tshow.

You really need to relax and open up a bit. ;)

Just adding to the catastrophe is that FSU is now 50-46 over the last eight years. The ACC lawsuit was somewhat predicated on the idea FSU is a perennial national championship contender and a huge national draw. That made sense after 10-3 & 13-1 seasons - they could argue the previous 5 years were a short blip that all programs have and now they are back on track. This year implodes that narrative and expose the possibility the last two years were a dead cat bounce of a rapidly declining program.

It’s not like Tallahassee is a huge and desirable market - all the appeal of FSU hinges on them winning. So this year is making an already questionable idea to sue the ACC look absolutely insane.

If Norvell doesn’t have a good 2025, he won’t be back for 2026. But how do you hire two new coordinators if they know they might be out after 12 games? And FSU opens the season vs. Alabama. Tough.

Will FSU have resources enough to buy out Norvell? Serious question. If FSU cannot afford to compete in the ACC (ignore the unbelievable extension with buyout clauses they just gave Norvelle) will FSU have money for the buy out?

Their offense has been a complete mess this year. How with their roster they are unable to create offense is hard to believe. When the QB got hurt last year their offense vanished. Coaching Is a disaster down there, but it couldn’t happen to a better bunch.

ACC fault...

You offer them 2 year contracts.

When the players quit like the FSU players have I would think nobody would want any of them that enter the transfer portal.

The main FSU appeal within FL is in being a large state school that is not UF and came to beat UF. Florida is both flagship and land grant and thus has always enjoyed major status across FL That means that most of the newcomers to FL since the 1960s have gravitated toward being band wagon FSU fans. They saw UF as old time FL and resented it for that reason. They saw themselves as being near the ground floor of FSU support - and as FSU was a girls college that only got male students during WW2, they were largely right about that.

Its his own fault. you have 7 decent qb and u pick the clemson kid who cant throw.

It would be funny, but impossible.
He was good last year at Oregon State and they've been worse without him. It's shocking they haven't gone back to him.

Hell have the strongest arm at the combine and could beat someone out for a backup job.

They screwed any chance of ever getting into the Big 10 or SEC as they can't be trusted.
Add in the fact that they are run by an inept AD who is nothing more than a puppet to the Bat S crazies and you have a good old fashioned tire fire in Tallahassee.

In other words, a huge percentage of FSU fans are bandwagoners with no natural affiliation with the university. Since band wagon fans aren’t known for sticking around though rough times, those fans will migrate to something else if FSU doesn’t turn it around quickly. Since there’s about 9 billion other options in Florida, finding something else won’t be a challenge.

My point still stands - if FSU isn’t a big winner, there is no reason for an SEC or Big Ten to want them. Their fan base is as stable and durable as a fart in the wind.
