Well, actually a floating dream. Occasionally, but rarely, I have a dream in which I jump into the air and defy gravity by not coming down again and then get inventive. Although I was a hurdler, many times the dream involves the long jump; I take off and go for dozens of yards or until I feel like stopping. Once in a while, the dream involves basketball, which it did last night. In my youth, one day during Christmas break, former players would go to my high school and practice/scrimmage with the current team. In my dream, we were running lay-ups, and I went up and did not come back down. So, I dunked it (something nobody ever did). Then, I dunked a reverse lay-up, and I rose about three feet above the rim and did a one-hand slam. I was trying convince someone to throw me an alley-oop pass (which did not exist at that time) when I woke up, so it did not happen. Fun dream !

On occasion, I would have dreams of Derrick Coleman, blocking Keith Smart’s shot. Haven’t had that one since 04/07/2003.

I am sure there is a direct connection between the players’ soaring win yesterday and your soaring dream. What a gift your unconscious gave you! I am envious.

I have had many flying dreams. My least favorite is hovering a foot above the ground and having to flap my arms for all they’re worth to stay afloat. I do not wake up refreshed.

I love those dreams, they seem so real. Once, long ago, I got up in the morning and jumped up next to the bed. I came right back down.

Yeah, my brain busts out the "jump" dream every 6-8 months or so, and as soon as I figure out what's going on I dunk everything.

I'm fat and five eight btw.
