What teams do you guys think would be a good fit for him?

Alot of talk of Flynn joining Waiters in Cleveland...

Also, any talk about a landing spot for Donte?

Call me a homer but I would love to see Donte on the knicks. He will be a cheap get and will push Amare for minutes. If you think about it he can to do everything Amare does and probably do it better. Amare is not the athlete he use to be Donte is younger about the same size and shoots it better, handles it better and is going to be good in the locker room.

As for Jonny he should go to the spurs and sit behind Tony Parker and learn as much as he can play 10-15mins a game and show he can run a team. Second spot for him would be OKC but there is going to be more of a fight for minutes there.

I want Scoop to go to the knicks so that is why I don't want Jonny there. Scoop would be great in pick and roll with chandler.

Im completely with you on Donte. That offense would be so much more efficient with a player like Donte to stretch the D and allow Melo more space with kickout options.

you can't compare Donte to Amare. Donte is backup, not a starter. Also, he has proven now that he is not a three point specialist at the NBA range. His propensity for taking threes is the worst part of his game. He's got a future as a 2nd unit forward who can either be a face up 4 or a big 3 (as long as he's not shooting 3s) and defend both forward positions.

there is talk of Flynn to the Lakers, but I would like to see Donte end up there.

I am not a big Amare fan, but he is still a much better player than Donte Greene.

You are correct Donte and amare cannot play together, but I want greene to take minutes from Amare and yes Donte has to stop shooting 3s. Donte to the Lakers I can see that.

When Amare was good I agree but I think his back and knees are shot. He does bring it every night because he can't. I hope I'm wrong because his contract will hamstring the Knicks even more.

Yep, Flynn to the spurs. I like that call.

I was holding a slim piece of hope that the Knicks would sign Scoop after the draft before his injury. There are a couple interesting PG vets out there and I want to see them bring in one and sign an undrafted PG just to fill out the roster.

Seriously though, that was a joke about Donte, right?

Flynn to Sixers especially if they lose Lou Williams. It gives Sixers another pick n roll point guard that can get in the lane.

Greene to Chicago as a 3 and an emergency 4. Greene has the athleticism to become a very good defensive player; Thibadeou could teach that to Donte. He could be used to defend against small ball lineups.

No I think Donte would play well off of Melo as a role player, feasting off of the doubles Melo creates.

The problem with the Kings is the whole team is a bunch of role players who don't compliment each other. There is no one on that team that commands a double team that is night and day from getting open mid-range shots care of Melo. I'm more concerned about Donte's defense and rebounding than his offense.

I could also see Flynn in Dallas. Terry and Kidd will both be gone and that leaves West, Beaubois and Dominique Jones. West is one stop away from prison and Flynn would be a nice insurance policy. Would love to see him in the back court with Jones.

I don't think Cleveland's a good place for Jonny. Irving isn't going to spend much time on the bench.

But you really think that Donte does everything better than Amare?

Why would Donte as Amare's backup be such a crazy idea? I think it makes sense.
Where would he fit in? He doesn't do anything better than the Knicks current options. As a utility big man, he can't bring what Jeffries does on the boards and defensively (assuming the A-Rod knee treatment works). If the Knicks are looking for a big SF thats a spot shooter -- which is what Donte is, Donte would be sitting behind Novak. I don't see where exactly it makes sense for him.

Amare's offense consist of a catch and shoot mid-range game, straight line drives with no crossover ability, and pick and roll; pick and pop game but his injuries don't allow him to jump over everyone and finish like he use to. Today Donte has a better game Amare in his day was a better player but back problems and two micro-fracture surgeries later and Amare is more of a name than a player. Also Novak my not be back because the knicks maybe out bid for his services.

unless he has a complete transformation in his approach to the defensive end, I can't see Jonny and Pop co-existing

Jonny is smart enough to know if his defensive doesn't get better he is not long for the league. I'm not convinced it is a effect thing as much as its size thing. If you look a photos of him from Portland he as seriously bulked up. My guess is he believes he need the extra bulk to be stronger on defense but I think the extra bulk slows him down a little on offensive. Its a tough balance.

Today Donte has a better game Amare

Donte has a career field goal percentage of 40.6%. His true shooting% is 49.1. That's awful. Amare is ripped for being a bad rebounder (fairly). He is a much better rebounder than Donte.

I know he is an SU guy, and Donte seems like a good kid, but Amare is 100 times better (exaggeration alert!) than Donte, even at his diminished level. The guy has a career 49% true shooting percentage! come on!!!!!

Amare is still miles and miles ahead of Donte. Donte is a below average NBA player. Have you watched any NBA these past 4 years? Saying he's not is ridiculous.

Before his injury, I thought there was a decent chance of Scoop signing with the Knicks. They had interest in him because, all things being equal, they thought he would catch on with their fan base and with the NYC media. If Jeremy Lin had suddently appeared in Sacramento (for example) last year, you never would have heard of him. In NYC, he makes the cover of SI two straight issues. NYC would have been perfect for Scoop... and vice versa.

I saw Donte live against the Warriors a couple of seasons ago. He'd float down the court, get to the 3 pt line and immediately raise his hand for the ball, he'd just hover around the 3 pt line - made maybe 1 of 3. He'd play a little D but not too much. Doubt if he broke a sweat in the game. I was thinking that if I was an owner, I'd cut the guy tomorrow. In Donte's defense, there were 4 or 5 other guys on the court doing similar stuff. I'd be surprised if he gets another contract.

As a Celtics fan, I would love to see him join Melo and KJ in Boston as Rondo's backup, especially if Allen leaves and Bradley becomes the starting 2 guard. I don't know that he'd want to settle for that role though.

I'd like to see Jonny Flynn in San Antonio. Really, he does everything better than Tony Parker and the Spurs would be sooooooo much better with Flynn playing point for 35 minutes and using Parker for a change of pace for 13.
