Curling sport is one of the oldest team sport was first played approximately in the late medieval period in Scotland. This game was initially played on frozen ponds and lochs during winter. It was originated from the rumbling sound the 20 kg granite stone made while Scots were travelling across the ice. The first curling stones were used in 1511, which came from Scottish regions. Later Stones with handles were added in the 1600s. The first curling club was originated in Scotland, i.e., the Grand Caledonian Curling Club, formed in 1838 who formulated the first official rules of the sport. In 20th-century the developments in the games were standardised, and indoor, refrigerated ice facilities were used. Curling was played first at the Winter Olympics in 1998.

Syracuse's NCAA Tournament Hopes are Not Dead Yet (SI; McAllister)
Monday night's loss at Duke was a blow to Syracuse's NCAA Tournament resume. There is no question about that. It was a golden opportunity for the Orange to pick up a quadrant one win, the thing that is most glaringly missing from the resume. The silver lining is that Syracuse still has a chance to add that, but now has no margin for error.
Syracuse needs quad one wins. It is as simple as that. The resume currently has none, and that is not enough to get them in. Most projections have Syracuse in the next four out, and losing at Duke will either keep them there or move them down a bit. Still, all hope is not lost.
Syracuse plays at Georgia Tech on Saturday in another quad one opportunity. If Syracuse picks up that win and is able to beat North Carolina at home on Monday, that would be two huge boosts to its NCAA Tournament chances. The Tar Heels currently sit 33rd in NET rankings. If they move up at least three spots, which will happen if they win their next two games including beating Florida State, that becomes another quad one win.

The phantom energy of the Cameron Crazy ghosts from Duke’s exhilarating nail-biter victory against Virginia just two days ago never seemed to disappear.
Duke slammed hard on the gas pedal from the opening tip on both sides of the floor, putting Syracuse away en route to an 85-71 win and four-game win streak.
“To be able to play the way we did tonight was outstanding,” head coach Mike Krzyzewski said. “You play four games in 10 days and that’s tough for any team. To have four wins is great.”
The Blue Devils' (11-8, 9-6 in the ACC) season-long improvement was put on full display against the Orange from the first possession, as breakout center Mark Williams finished a standing alley-oop from DJ Steward to immediately poke a hole through Syracuse’s infamous 2-3 zone. Williams earned his first career double-double, finishing with a career-high 18 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks, making a huge impact on both ends of the floor.
“These last four wins that we had all started on the defensive end and that’s what got our offense going,” Jeremy Roach said. “Mark Williams was huge for us...just amazing. He was on the glass all night just battling his ass off, so I appreciate him.

The Blue Devils dominated Syracuse Monday night, never trailing and leading by as many as 24 points in an 85-71 win. The win gave Duke its first four-game winning streak since winning seven straight last season and moves the Blue Devils to 11-8 overall, 9-6 in the ACC.
Syracuse drops to 13-7, 7-6.
The four wins came in a 10-day span.
“To be able to play the way we did tonight is just outstanding,” Mike Krzyzewski said. “The kids played great.”
The Blue Devils carved up Syracuse’s trademark 2-3 zone, hitting 13 of 29 3 pointers and assisting on 27 of 34 made field goals. Five Blue Devils had at least four assists.
Mike Krzyzewski said Duke took it easy after Saturday night’s bruising win over Virginia.

Any impact the 2015 NCAA sanctions may have had are now in the rearview, and Syracuse is going all in on top talent. SU has only one former top-100 recruit on its roster: freshman guard Kadary Richmond. Since 2017, the Orange have averaged the No. 45 recruiting class nationally. Over the past five years, they’ve averaged the eighth-best class in the ACC, which is about on par with their conference standing.
Make no mistake: To try to elevate from a perennial .500 team to the upper third of the ACC, SU must land higher-end recruits in the 2022 and 2023 classes.
Syracuse probably won’t sign more than one or two on this list. But even just one commitment here would indicate progress for a program looking to build on its first five-star commit (forward Benny Williams, Class of 2021) in six years. Williams, who could start next season as a freshman, represents a big step in the right direction.

The Duke Blue Devils moved to 4-0 without Johnson in the lineup with a 85-71 victory over Syracuse on Monday night at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
The truths Boeheim was spitting about his own team after the loss should concern SU fans much more than roster moves on Coach K’s team.
Following a game in which Duke hit 13 3-pointers, Boeheim said that one of his starters admitted at halftime that he didn’t play defense in the first half.
Boeheim says he doesn’t understand how his player couldn’t be playing defense at this stage of the season.

Former US Attorney General Loretta Lynch released her final report Monday into Syracuse University's Department of Public Safety, capping a nearly yearlong inquiry into the department.
University Chancellor Kent Syverud announced Lynch's independent review of campus public safety in February 2020, in the wake of student protests over the university's handling of racist incidents on campus. The former attorney general currently serves as a partner at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP.
Students' complaints often extended to the campus public safety department itself. During a sit-in at Crouse-Hinds Hall that month, students told CNN that public safety officials had initially refused to allow community members to give food to students protesting.
Among Lynch's "key conclusions" in the nearly 100-page report is that campus public safety should streamline how it shares information to the campus community, better adhere to its standard operating procedures for bias-related incidents, and strengthen its "community policing ethos."
