Welcome to World Crohn's and Colitis Day!

The first annual World Crohn's and Colitis Day (WCCD) was celebrated on May 23, 2007.[1] The event was created by Josh Golder and recognized by the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America, as well as by people from around the world. Josh is a prominent figure and activist in the Crohn's and Colitis community (who himself has Crohn's disease), who directed and produced the internationally known, community-wide movie, "True Guts: Struggle and Triumph over Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis" (which is more commonly known as "True Guts"). Josh created WCCD as a way to bring people affected by either disease together, as well as friends and family members of those individuals, and even those who knew nothing about either disease in order to increase awareness of them.

The Tommy DeVito era has officially begun.

The standout quarterback signee and centerpiece of Syracuse football's 2017 class is enrolled for Summer Session I, along with five other new arrivals, per SU Athletics. Classes started earlier on Monday.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound DeVito repped the Orange on the national recruiting scene last year. After leading Don Bosco (Ramsey, N.J.) Preparatory School to a Non-Public, Group 4 state championship as a junior, he was named an Elite 11 finalist, earned a spot on The Opening's all-7-on-7-team and started in the Under Armour All-America Game.

DeVito, who remained adamant about the strength of his commitment throughout the process, turned down post-pledge suitors Texas A&M, Ole Miss and Washington State. He now joins a quarterback group led by junior two-year starter Eric Dungey. Senior Zack Mahoney returns as the backup, along with redshirt freshman Rex Culpepper and redshirt freshman walk-on Mo Hasan.

The other signees who are enrolled for Summer Session I are running back Markenzy Pierre, JUCO defensive end Brandon Berry (four years to play three), linebacker Tyrell Richards, inside receiver Nykeim Johnson and inside receiver Sharod Johnson. Classes run through June 30.

More of SU's signees are expected to arrive for Summer Session II, which begins on July 3.

It’s about time that former Syracuse football star, Justin Pugh, gets his just due. Apparently that’ll include millions in his new deal with Giants.

The last Syracuse football player to be called in the first round of the NFL Draft was none other than, Justin Pugh. Although that’s the past, but since 2013 Pugh has faced a ton of adversity.

Since being the 19th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, Pugh was drafted as a potential left tackle. Moved over to the right side. Then slid in as a guard due to injuries on the New York Giants offensive line.

This season he’s entering a contract year and he’s ready for a promotion. He made over $10m on his rookie deal. But apparently his inevitable pay increase hasn’t slipped by him, saying recently to NFL.com, “I’m sitting in the driver’s seat,” Pugh told the New York Post regarding his contract situation.

So what kind of contract could Pugh be looking at?

Well I did an analysis on the leading salary cap experts (OverTheCap.com) and tackles are being paid. The top 11 right tackles in the league have already received their new extensions with their total guarantees ranging anywhere from $5m-$20m.

Former Time Warner Cable customers say sharply higher prices from Charter Communications' Spectrum brand are making them cut the cord or at least think about it.

Dan Beecher, of Camillus, said he called Spectrum twice after his monthly bill for internet, television and phone service jumped from $153 to $187, a 22 percent increase.

"Each time, they said, 'Gee, there's nothing we can do for you,'" he said. "They said, 'Oh, you were on some special promotions that have expired and we don't operate on promotions.'"

Even worse, one of the Spectrum customer service reps he spoke with told him that his bill will go up another $20 in July when the one-year free period for the four digital converter boxes he has expires.

Beecher said he was looking into switching to Dish Network, DirecTV or over-the-web television services such as Sling TV and PlayStation Vue.

Pugh's gonna make a pretty penny.
