Welcome to Green Monday!

Green Monday is an online shopping day similar to Cyber Monday, and it occurs on the last Monday when there are at least ten days prior to Christmas, which usually happens to be the second Monday in December. Online shoppers have historically wanted ten days between when they order gifts and Christmas, to ensure the gifts arrive in time. The day is like an online version of Super Saturday, where shoppers realize there isn't much time left to look for items, and that they must buy. As many retailers now offer guaranteed two-day shipping, the importance of getting all online shopping done by Green Monday has lessened.

Syracuse football recruiting: Junior college linebacker Lakiem Williams commits to Syracuse (DO; Graham)

Junior college linebacker Lakiem Williams committed to Syracuse on Sunday afternoon in a Tweet.

The 6-foot-2, 240-pound linebacker plays at Butte (California) College and committed to Syracuse shunning offers from the likes of Toledo, Houston and Kansas. He runs a 4.43 second 40-yard dash, per his Hudl.com profile, as well as bench pressing 365 pounds and squatting 630.

Williams took an official visit to Syracuse on Dec. 8 before committing two days later. Texas linebacker Martrevious Allison also committed to Syracuse on Sunday. Previously, Syracuse had two linebackers committed in the Class of 2018: three-stars Juan Wallace and Ja’Qurius Smith. Track the rest of Syracuse’s Class of 2018 here.

SMU loses third verbal commitment as John Tyler LB Tre Allison flips to Syracuse (dallasnews.com; Grosbard)

The Mustangs lost their third verbal commit of the day when Tyler John Tyler linebacker Tre Allison announced he was changing his commitment from SMU to Syracuse after an official visit to the latter.

"After much consideration, soul searching, prayer, and consultation with my family and mentors I have decided to withdraw my verbal commitment to Southern Methodist University," Allison wrote on Twitter. "I am excited to announce my intent to join the Syracuse Orange football team in 2018."

Allison is a three-star recruit according to 247sports.com's composite rankings.

The news came a few hours after wide receiver Michael Woods and offensive lineman Silas Robinson announced they would be changing their commitments from SMU to Arkansas and former SMU head coach Chad Morris.

SU Lands Another as Lakiem Williams Picks the Orange | Otto's Grove (.com; Kelly)

Well, that was fast. Shortly after taking a pledge from linebacker Tre Allison, the Syracuse football program has landed another commit from a linebacker – this time, junior college transfer Lakiem Williams.

The 6-foot-2, 240 pounder originally from Washington state (by way of Butte College) picked the Orange over offers from Toledo, Houston, Cal, Kansas, and a handful of others, and joins Allison, Jack Smith, and Juan Wallace as linebackers in the 2018 class.

Syracuse Picks up Another Key Recruit – Orange Fizz – Free Syracuse Recruiting News (orangefizz.net; Hoppe)

When the 2017 Syracuse football season came to a close, there was a lot of chatter about who would replace star linebackers Zaire Franklin and Paris Bennett. Those two were the heartbeat of a defense that looked much better (at times) than it did in an embarrassing 2016 campaign.

With the commitment of 2018 linebacker Tre Allison, that answer becomes a bit more clear. Allison, a 6-foot-1, 212 pound outside linebacker announced earlier today that he has decommitted from Southern Methodist University to join Dino Babers and the Orange:

As Allison stated in his post, he plans to make the commitment official on December 20th, which is the first day of the early signing period.

2017 CFN All-ACC Team, Top 30 Players & Coach Of The Year (collegefootballnews.com)

CFN 2017 ACC Offensive Player of the Year
QB LAMAR JACKSON, JR. LOUISVILLE
He might not have won the Heisman, and he might not have led the Cardinals to a splashy national stature, but he still came up with a fantastic year, completing 60% of his passes for 3,489 yards and 25 touchdowns with six interceptions, and running for 1,443 yards and 17 scores.

CFN 2017 ACC Defensive Player of the Year
DE BRADLEY CHUBB, JR. NC STATE
The tone-setting star for the Wolfpack line each and every week, Chubb made 73 tackles with ten sacks and 25 tackles for loss despite being Job One by every blocking scheme. He crushed Boston College with five tackles for loss, hit FSU with two sacks, and cranked up the production against just about everyone else.

2018 Early Top Heisman Candidates: The First Guess (collegefootballnews.com; Fiutak)

2018 Early Heisman Candidates
Last year we did this exact same piece, and outside of whiffing on a Bryce Love type here or there, we got two of the top three right, including the one on top.

Don’t expect anywhere near the same type of success this season.

Doing this last year was relatively easy with Lamar Jackson, and Sam Darnold, and Baker Mayfield, and Josh Rosen, and Saquon Barkley, and Derrius Guice, and J.T. Barrett, and a whole slew of other stars coming back.

Going into next year there’s … a lot of guesswork.

Of course, if any of the big stars like Darnold, Love, Barkley, Rosen, Guice, and/or Jackson return, this becomes easy. Throw any and all of them at or near the top of this list if they put off the NFL, but assume they’re all making millions next year at this time.

Winter storm watches issued in much of Upstate NY for double dose of snow (PS; Coin)

A clipper system followed by a round of heavy lake effect snow could bring a foot of snow, and hazardous driving, to parts of Upstate New York this week.

The National Weather Service has issued winter weather alerts for much of Upstate.

The clipper system coming in from the west will drop several inches of snow beginning tonight across all of Upstate, potentially snarling the Tuesday morning commute. Behind that, strong northwest winds blowing across the Great Lakes will bring heavier lake effect snow through Wednesday evening.

By the time the lake effect storm winds down Wednesday, Central and Western New York could see a foot of snow, with even more where lake effect snow bands linger.

So is Perkins a JR or did he get injured in 2016 since he only played 1 game and probably get a RS?

If Horan plays oline like some suspect we will only have 1 TE on the roster in 2019
