Welcome to Let's Laugh Day!

What a sad place the world would be without laughter, and what a sorrowful day it is when someone goes the whole day without one little giggle. Well, today fixes that. It's Let's Laugh Day. It's a day to get rid of some daily stress with some good belly laughs. These are not teensy weensy laughs, but ginormous laughs that get everyone laughing together.

You may laugh, but there really are a lot of short term and long term benefits of laughter. Laughter increases the intake of air, stimulates organs, releases endorphins in the brain, and improves mood. Laughter loosens up muscles, lowers blood pressure, and leaves one feeling relaxed. In the long term, laughter can improve the immune system, fight illness, pain, and depression. On top of all this, laughing burns calories!

Let's Laugh Day is being observed today! It has always been observed annually on March 19th.

ACC Football Rx: ACC Network News - FSU (Hokie Mark)

We always love ACC Network news, so here are some tidbits from the Tallahassee.com story
FSU continues to prepare for launch of ACC Network...

First, let's see it from FSU's academics...
Seminole Productions continues to prepare for the ACC Network's launch in August 2019. The video production unit – located in the Moore Athletic Center and part of Florida State’s School of Communication – is planning to add two additional control rooms to help handle the production needs for FSU athletics. So hopefully all 15 schools can leverage the ACC Network along with their own communications programs.

Next, from ESPN's perspective...
ESPN has encouraged ACC schools to improve their video production capabilities...

ESPN is scheduled to begin its production training sessions at the league's 15 schools in August. This is kind of a big deal, IMO.

How much video production are we talking here?
Seminole Productions produces more than 100 television programs annually for athletics... It also produces live events on ESPN’s linear networks such as ESNPU and ESPN2 and continues online streaming like in the past on ACC Network Extra, an online channel dedicated for the broadcast of ACC sports and programming.

According to the ACC, the conference - through the digital platform - produced and distributed 1,450 live events during the 2016-17 academic year. The league estimates that the linear network will produce and distribute more than 1,500 events each season. What kind of revenue is being projected?
The network, according to reports, is projected to make an additional $8-10 million in 2019-20. That total could increase to between $10-15 million in future years. This, alone, brings ACC revenue up around the $40 million per year mark. We don't know what the league got for extending the GoR / ESPN contract - hopefully, presumably, a lot (they've always gotten nice boosts in the past). Will the combination be enough to keep the ACC competitive with the SEC and the Big Ten? We'll have to wait and see...

Superhero! SU football legend Jim Brown rescues Stan Lee's dog (report) (PS; Herbert)

Syracuse football legend Jim Brown has played an action hero in movies, but he's also a hero in real life to the man behind some of the biggest superheroes in comics history.

TMZ reports Stan Lee, the co-creator of Marvel characters like Daredevil, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Black Panther, X-Men and the Fantastic Four, lost his dog last week. Sources say the 95-year-old comics legend's mini Pomeranian, Charlotte, got loose in the Los Angeles area and had been missing for several days.

Lee's team posted "Lost Dog" flyers around his Hollywood Hills neighborhood, but hadn't heard anything for several days.

Brown, who lives about a mile away from Lee, and his wife Monique found Charlotte in their yard with no collar. They contacted several neighbors and took the pooch to a vet, but had no luck.

"The Browns then went old school and canvassed several neighborhoods and BAM," TMZ wrote. "They saw the posters, called the number and just like that, Charlotte was reunited with Stan."

Parades are near the top of my " I am glad you like it, but I don't get it" list
