Welcome to Administrative Professionals Day!

Administrative Professionals Day®, also known as Secretaries' Day or Admin Day, recognizes the work of secretaries, receptionists, administrative assistants, and other administrative support professionals. Employers and supervisors organize events for these workers on the day, and workers are often given cards, flowers, chocolate, and lunches. In the United States, the day takes place during Administrative Professionals Week, which occurs during the last full week of April. The holiday is celebrated in work environments around the world.

Syracuse football recruiting: 2018 WR Andrew Licciardi commits as preferred walk-on (PS; Bailey)

Class of 2018 wide receiver Andrew Licciardi committed to Syracuse football as a preferred walk-on on Tuesday.

The East Greenwich (R.I.) High School standout announced his decision on Twitter. EG head coach John George clarified his player's scholarship status.

"He's a great receiver," George said. "He's graduating as the school's all-time leader in receptions, yardage and touchdowns. I think he's broken every receiving record we have."

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound Licciardi is unrated by the major recruiting services, but also had opportunities to play at Sacred Heart, Rhode Island and Fordham, among other lower-level schools. Licciardi recorded career highs of 82 receptions, 1,239 receiving yards and 14 receiving touchdowns over 12 games played as a senior, per MaxPreps.com.

Licciardi reached out to the Orange coaching staff after being accepted to SU as a student and visited last weekend, George said. The trip left both sides ready to agree on a preferred walk-on position, which essentially guarantees Licciardi a roster spot for preseason camp.

Syracuse Football: #MockDraftMonday revealing full 1st round of NFL Draft (itlh.com; Esden Jr)

Here’s a full 1st round mock draft (2018 NFL Draft). Plus an update on several Syracuse football prospects on a #MockDraftMonday.

It’s officially NFL Draft week! So on a final #MockDraftMonday we decided to reveal our final first round mock draft plus give some updates to the Syracuse football prospects in this draft.

So no shock here, but no Syracuse football player will hear their name called in the first round. The last player to hear his name called was Justin Pugh back in 2013. Since it has been slim pickings. I mean you could say that for the last 15 years.

Although we’ll talk about it later, I truly believe we could hear multiple Syracuse football players get their name called by the end of the 2018 NFL Draft for the first time since 2014 (Jay Bromley third round, Marquis Spruill).

Now it’s time for the last #MockDraftMonday:
HERE IS MY FINAL #MOCKDRAFTMONDAY! LOCK IT IN! I changed a lot of things and we'll be discussing it on 'Drive Time Sports' on @TheScore1260. My competition vs my producer (@ozmcgee44) for FREE LUNCH IS ON LIKE DONKEY KONG! #NFLDraft #Jets #BillsMafia #Giants pic.twitter.com/jeAvTk1OAf

ACC NFL Draft: Led by Bradley Chubb, the ACC will be represented in the first round - ACCSports.com (accsports.com; Geisinger)

The three-day extravaganza of the NFL Draft starts up later this week. Yes: Arlington, Texas will be the site for 72 hours of pick selections, Twitter leaks, fake trades and Mel Kiper’s hair gel.

I’ll be on the couch watching the NBA playoffs; however, it’s worth noting how the ACC is poised to build upon its draft success over the last five years.

Recent History: A Success
In 2017, 43 ACC players were selected across the draft’s seven rounds; dating back to the 2014 draft, 158 ACC players have been selected — the second most of any conference. Back in 2015, another 47 ACC player were drafted — when the event was held in Chicago.

Led by NC State’s Mario Williams in 2006, the ACC set a record with 12 first round picks. That year, NFL teams selected 51 ACC players, in total: the most ever in the history of the league.

The 2018 Affair
Once again, the ACC’s top draft prospect is an NC State defensive lineman — 6-foot-5, 270 pound sack-bot Bradley Chubb. After a record-setting four-year career in Raleigh, Chubb is a lock to be a top-5 pick.

ACC Football Rx: Two Pairs - 4/25/18 (accfootballrx.com; HM)

From SaturdayBlitz: College Football: 5 takeaways from April 14 spring games
Here are some ACC excerpts...
The Louisville Cardinals have to replace Heisman Trophy winner and record setting quarterback Lamar Jackson

Clemson and Miami have incumbent quarterbacks, but both have been the subject of much scrutiny and are now pressed by high profile youngsters.
5. Hurricanes weren’t televised, Seminoles were
One huge takeaway from the weekend was that the Miami Hurricanes weren’t televised. Competing for the eyes of recruits across the country Miami was unable to find or accept television coverage. The cross-state rival Florida State Seminoles were able to land a TV deal and appeared at exactly the same time, 6 p.m. ET, on the ACC Network. It was Willie Taggart’s debut and James Blackman‘s chance to cement himself as the starter.

Deondre Francois is going to have an uphill battle to unseat James Blackman. While Francois has the stockier frame that could handle the running asked for in Taggart’s offense, Blackman looked comfortable in the FSU offense and finished 16-of-32 passing for 259 yards and a touchdown with only one scholarship wide receiver on his team. Blackman has the stature at 6-foot-5 and once he adds weight will look and play a lot like Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert who is a clearcut NFL prospect out in Eugene.

ACC Football Rx: Realignment outside the box (accfootballrx.com; HM)

When people on message boards talk of possibly sending one or two ACC teams to the SEC in order to add a large group of Big XII teams, everyone seems to suggest sending Virginia Tech and NC State to the SEC... but those are the wrong teams to send!

Instead of VT and NCSU, why not send UNC and UVA? I think the SEC would be delighted to do this, and from a football standpoint it helps the ACC much more than the trade above:

This trade
1. Gets the SEC into North Carolina and Virginia...
2. It eliminates two mouths for the ACC football schools to feed*.
3. It allows the ACC to add 6 Big XII teams - one of which could be WVU.
4. It still allows the SEC to add 4 Big XII teams.
Both conferences would then sit at 20. DONE.

* I'd like to send Wake Forest and Duke but this is a theoretical, not a fantasy.
__________

However, my plan was apparently not forward-thinking enough...

JRsec from CSNBBS wrote this reply [LINK]:
You and I were talking about equitable value the other day. And while there is some jest here, the simple truth is those would be the best schools for the ACC to get rid of but for slightly different reasons.

ACC Football Rx: ACC Network news and rumors (accfootballrx.com; HM)

In October of 2017, Comcast/XFinity dropped ESPN Classic from the lineup - despite being contracted to carry it for several years more. At that time, the rumor was that this was in preparation for the new ACC Network, which would slide into the slot vacated by Classic [LINK]. Meanwhile, much of the ESPN Classic type content is now available on ESPN+.

Obviously if this is true, it means Comcast intends to carry the ACCN as well. When combined with Altice, this means coverage in most ACC states is already guaranteed.

Sports Business Journal reported last year that ESPN will be seeking the same carriage fee ($1.30 per month) for the ACC Network as it charges for the SEC Network [LINK].

CNY's best outdoor dining spots: 17 top places for eating al fresco (PS; Pucci)

Dining outside is not something we Central New Yorkers can do that often, so when the weather is warm, it's best to take advantage of it.

Some of our favorite spots are along lakes and rivers, while others offer sweeping hilltop views, or simply serve as an outdoor oasis in an otherwise busy city.

These are our 17 picks, listed in alphabetical order. Is your favorite not listed? Leave your suggestions in the comments.

Alex's on the Water
Some folks only see the Oswego Harbor once a year during Harborfest, which is a shame, because it's one of the best sights in a city full of beautiful vistas. Alex's on the Water, opened in 2013 inside the Best Western Hotel, has a chic dining room, but the real treasures are found in the glass-enclosed bar or open patio.

Aurora Inn Dining Room
The Aurora Inn Dining Room, located inside the Inns of Aurora, is home to both an elegant dining room and a large back deck where diners can watch the sunset over Cayuga Lake. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, so if you want to enjoy the view, but not pay the full fine dining dinner price tag, head there early in the day.
