Green Monday is an online retail industry term similar to Cyber Monday. The term was coined[1] by eBay to describe its best sales day in December,[2][3] usually the second Monday of December. Green Monday is defined more specifically by business research organization comScore as the Monday with at least 10 days prior to Christmas. In 2009, $854 million was spent online in the US on Green Monday,[4] with sales in 2011 reaching $1.133 billion.[5] In 2012, Green Monday topped out at $1.27 billion, up 13% from 2011 and the third heaviest online sales day for the season behind Cyber Monday and Dec. 4, 2012 (which had no marketing tie-in), according to comScore.[6]
In 2014, Green Monday online sales grossed a record $1.6 billion, albeit still lower than Cyber Monday's $2.68 billion during the same year.[citation needed]

As a senior, the converted running back hauled in one catch for 7 yards for the Orangemen, as they defeated McNeese State, 31-7, at Independence Stadium. Monk also returned punts and kicks for Syracuse during that game.
Monk was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2012 and finished as Syracuse’s record holder for catches in a game (14). He stands 10th in career receptions at Syracuse (102) despite playing just one season at wide receiver. Monk collected more than 1,100 rushing yards in two seasons (1977, 1978) at running back.
The White Plains, New York, native was drafted in the first round (18th overall) of the 1980 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins. He played 16 professional seasons with the Redskins (1980-93), the New York Jets (1994) and Philadelphia (1995).
At 6-foot-3, 210 pounds, Monk helped lead the Redskins to three titles in Super Bowls XVII, XXII and XXVI. He was a Pro Bowler in 1984-86, an All-Pro selection in 1984-85 and named to the NFL's 1980s All-Decade Team. He was the first player in NFL history to record 100-plus receptions in the Super Bowl era and the first player to surpass 900 career receptions.
He finished with 940 receptions 12,721 receiving yards, 68 touchdowns and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2008.
Linebacker Switches Commitment From Virginia to Syracuse (dailyprogress.com; Ramspacher)
When news trickled out Friday concerning Chris Beatty joining Syracuse's staff after an impactful year at Virginia, speculation grew as to how the move would affect the recruiting scene.
Kenneth Ruff, a three-star linebacker from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, flipped from the Cavaliers to the Orange on Saturday.
According to 247Sports, Beatty, then UVa's running backs coach, was the primary recruiter in Ruff pledging to UVa on Sept. 25. He had planned to enroll early at UVa.
BYU's Bronco Mendenhall replaced Mike London as Virginia's head coach on Dec. 4. Bowling Green's Dino Babers replaced Scott Shafer at Syracuse on Dec. 5.
Beatty was the primary recruiter for at least nine of UVa's 27 commitments in its 2016 class, including all four prospects from Florida.
Ruff is the first to decommit since Mendenhall's hiring.
