My 1st law job was doing construction litigation. Most of it comes about because things are changed/modified on the fly, then there are isssues are whether that work is within the scope of the original contract or if it is such a change as to warrant a separate, additional fee to the owner.

He built it by exploiting and manipulating everyone involved in its construction so he could get richer.

Many contractors never got paid from the original build, let alone the mess that is destiny.

Professional douchebag - he's done well for himself (and at times others) sure but at the expense of many.

i was on the original building from start to finnish and he mostly played the games on the non-union contractors.their pay was all over the board so you have guys quitting a contractor at nine in the morning to work for another who had a store down the way for a buck more an hour.contractors just couldn't keep their time schedule.

I dont know the games that were played. but for the most part it seems people are pissed because he got money to build something that most feel was only partly done. from the outside looking in , he played the game better then the SU council played the game, but he still built something on land that was worthless that gets thousands to come into the city every day that would otherwise never visit. I visit a dozen times more year than i would have so thats probably 2-3k going into the economy that would never have gotten there any other way.
