Sorry Millhouse. Thought Scott made a bad decision both on third down and fourth down with about 90 seconds to go in the half. Throw to the endzone on third down. And get the three points on fourth down - close it to a two-score game at halftime. I do feel however that earlier in the second quarter Scott should have gone for it on fourth down - at about midfield with two or three to go? (Don't recall all the details).

I was indifferent. The expected value was probably the same either way. I hate fades though

Unforced mistakes - illegal motion on third and one by Hickey for example. The many drops including two dropped INTs. Those were mistakes that were not "forced" by FSU. The fact is that an Alabama would have kicked the FG on fourth down. Indeed, any top ten team would have kicked the FG at that point in the game. Going for it was an expression of weakness. Sorry but I see it very differently than you do.

Playing the game like you're Alabama when you don't have Alabama payers is a good way to ensure a loss to a more talented team.

The issue wasn't going for it on fourth down, it was the play selection - three straight running plays - that led to the obvious pass call on fourth.

I will almost never question a coach that goes for it on 4th or that tries for a TD over a FG.

That's just my baseline. I'm still not sure that I trust Murphy to hit his field goals, so that biases me even more towards trying to get touchdowns.

as i said before, you do not kick fg inside the 10 against the number one team, particularly in our position. you cannot win playing our traditional game, and taking risks are MANDATORY. i am shocked that we did not do that until later. that was very uncreative and suspect insight. play all out not half ass. make a splash,and show the guts--recruits and fans would respect that.

Sounds like they had nearly 2 min to run their 2 min offense and couldn't move the ball past their own 26 to me in that time. It also sounds like one of our DL or LB's made a hell of a play and had to be held from getting to the QB.
