Fran’s sideline demeanor

To be fair, Franco was referencing OXs post in regards to war.
And coach does need to show a little restraint, with some more experience Im sure he will. Just a little would be good.
He's actually middle of the road, at worst, among college coaches as far as sideline demeanor.

I also think that no matter how a coach acts, there will be fans who want more and some who want less of whatever it is.

I agree, I like it for the most part. His emotions ride high as they should. Coming from where he did and accomplishing what he has, he has earned to act however he wants...within reason.
IMO, sometimes he could show restraint and other times show more emotion...but whatever.
Im not complaining.

Given how horrible the ACC officiating is, I don’t blame him for working the refs the way he does. They need a good tongue lashing sometimes just so they can think about that next crucial call.

He could tone it down a bit with his staff, but they knew what they signed up for. He dishes out tough love during the games, and that’s ok.

Fran's genuine. I think he balances his emotions just fine. As long as he knows how to read his players and coaches and adjust his interactions with them, he'll be fine. A lot of great coaches have been less than easy to work/play for. Fran strikes me as more personable and relatable then some of them.

Back in the day, Mac was as personable as they come. Behind the scenes was a much different story.

Fran is extremely intense on and off the field. He has unwavering expectations. But this is the big thing: The players know he loves them.

I used to attend many practices over on Lancaster near the evergreen trees. In public Mac was an “everything is beautiful” type guy. But at practice, he’d be standing up on that stanchion or whatever it was and he’d be calling every coach and player a mfer when he wasn’t happy. It was great.
