Fran / Players Postgame Presser | Cal

I love that Fran is so confident in his recruiting that instead of being scared to run guys off because we need the depth at least. He’s like, go hit the portal if you don’t like it.
He should be that way with his coaching staff to. Not that I’m calling for anyone to be fired, but it concerns me when he says things like “ the man has a family “, and ERob is his best friend etc. Coaches live a nomadic life, they know that the day they are hired is a day closer to being fired. But I think/hope he has the fortitude to part ways with a coach if need be.

Yeah. That’s big boy program mentality. He has said over and over quoting Kirby Smart. Nothing or no one is more important than the culture.

Being honest, I'd be more agitated with the guys who were loafing in practice and who showed up 25 minutes late for a mandatory meeting than the guy who talked back to a coach.

The latter, as long as it's not part of a season-long pattern of behavior, happens. Guys get frustrated and snap occasionally. If it is addressed and there's remorse then it's no big deal.

Loafing heading into a critical road game is completely unacceptable. Being that late shows a total disregard for other people's time, also totally unacceptable.

I liked this even though I have a 9 year old daughter that gives me an attitude every time I try to correct her or show her the right technique in soccer or mountain biking.

But you’re right, those things happen and as long as it’s not a pattern of disrespect, loafing around at practice for a couple days is a far bigger deal in the grand scheme of things

So fresh, so clean.

The defense looked better, moved better, and tackled better. Safeties can be better coming downhill against the run. That’s no time to guess, and flat angles can be worse than a turnover on offense.

The offense hummed. We have become accustomed to long drives, and they are a thing of beauty. The 3rd down conversion rate is top 10 in the country the last time I checked, and that is a sign of a well run unit with leadership at all levels.

Specials getting there one week at a time.
It was not your typical Syracuse game.

We got interceptions. Got a bunch of field goals.

The 3rd down offense is awesome. Pena and Gadsden have so many clutch grabs on 3rd. McCord almost never throws a bad pass.

Um. He has 12 interceptions this year. And I was lucky enough to be in Pittsburgh when he threw 3 pick 6’s. Ugh

But ya. He’s damn good

I think he had 5 that night including the guy on the ground xmas gift. Minus that game he has had an incredible year. He makes his reads and gets rid of the ball so damn fast, We will miss that next year. Hope we find somebody even close to his level .
