Very frustrating.

No one wants to answer you because you are the master of shooting the messenger if they give you truthful answers that you don't like.
I'm running with the assumption that he will leave, since you predict he is staying and all of your personnel predictions have been dead wrong.
This is college basketball. I urge you, don’t let frivolous things make you angry. Please, Hulk. We don’t like when you’re angry. It makes no sense for him to leave though. We are being hurt by this new transfer portal. These guys would be here otherwise that's why I'm angry.
I actually am in agreement with you on this one, plenty of time at the center available. It would make little sense. It makes no sense for him to leave though. We are being hurt by this new transfer portal. These guys would be here otherwise that's why I'm angry.
Why don't you do something about it then? Write a letter to NCAA, bust up the entrance to the portal, get some cash from your bank and drop them off the door steps of disgruntled kids, anything would help!It makes no sense for him to leave though. I could be completely wrong here, but maybe Frank coming back depends on what Quincy does. I get that they play completely different positions but hear me out...if Quincy comes back, that gives us 4 forwards who all HAVE to play. Tough to divide 80 minutes 4 ways...gotta think that if QG comes back that one of the forwards will see considerable time at the 5 as Marek did even in 2019-20 when Sidibe was healthy. Maybe Frank realizes that and I can’t blame him. Joe, Buddy, and Symir will split the minutes at the guard spot. With QG, Benny, Swider, Jimmy that is 7 guys without even factoring in Edwards or Sidibe (if healthy, which is a long shot). At most JB will play 8. I think if Q goes pro, Frank has a great chance to see the floor especially if Sidibe isn’t healthy. If Q comes back, he’d have to beat out Sidibe and Edwards to see any time at all.
Now that I’ve posted this, Frank will probably announce his intentions immediately and my theory will be meaningless...

That's definitely a Boeheim sez things thing. We have no idea what makes sense to any of these kids. You need to stop looking at their thought processes through the lens of only your own personal experiences and needs.
Consider that the staff made Frank reclassify to come a year early, then Boeheim directly stated in a post game press conference later in the year that "he wasn't in the plans to play this year." How would that you make you feel? I can't speak for Frank, but if I were in the same position, I would feel like I had been taken advantage by the staff categorizing my recruitment as having an urgent need for this season. But maybe to Frank it is no big deal? Who knows? This is the type of thing I'm talking about - we have no idea what makes sense or not to any of them.
That's definitely a Boeheim sez things thing.
Also not sure it made much sense since Frankie was the first big off the bench a few times early on.
Yeah, I agree with all of that.Oh I agree 100%. It was definitely a Boeheim sez things/CYA moment. But it's easy for an adult to recognize that and may be harder for the subject of the comment (in this case Frank) to recognize it. The point is that the optics of making that kind of statement in public after requesting that a kid reclassify and come a year early might not sit well with the kid. Or maybe it has no impact. We just don't know from Frank's perspective.
Also - I want to point out that I'm not advocating for Frank to leave or anything at all like that. I'm just trying to make the point that it's nearly impossible to know their decision-making processes.

Yeah but Sid got hurt 4 minutes into game 1?That was before Sid got hurt. JB was going to redshirt all 3 young guys with Sid staring and Marek backing him up.
If you keep Frank and QG I think we have one of the best teams in the league.Moving past another page with an *ahem* interruption, what do our ACC foes frontcourts look like going into next year? If we retain Frank and QG I would have to think we come in with on the best potential wise.

What 3 guys shouldn't be playing ACC level ball? I strongly disagree with that. Not that I wouldn't enjoy rooting for that team/lineup. It would make a great Wichita St or Creighton type team. I expect better for Syracuse mostly because for most of the past 45 years that I have bled Orange our rosters and lineups have been better. You list 7, 3 of them shouldn't really be playing ACC level basketball next year. That will be tough to overcome. But maybe we will finally get to see what a really first class, veteran, mid major type team can do in a "power conference." Might surprise a lot of people. This next part is near heresy...IF, it becomes clear that the best player on next years team is a freshman...and said freshman is mature enough to lead a veteran team...then that lineup could be a whole lot of fun to watch.
That's my line...LOL

Can anyone tell me if Frank missed on his 5th year of HS or if he did it all in 3?Frank traded his senior year of high school for a development season at Syracuse. My guess is there was an honest conversation that by reclassifying and coming early he probably wouldn't play much in his first season. I am surprised more players (especially bigs) don't try to reclassify and enter college early. As a center, he likely progressed more by being in a high level D1 program on the bench than dominating high school kids for an additional year. Frank knows the system and is aware of his talent level compared to his teammates by practicing against them everyday. He is probably waiting to see if we pull in a '22 Center before making his final decision. I wish him the best and he needs to make the correct decision for his future.
What I can't understand is why no other school is getting hurt.It makes no sense for him to leave though. We are being hurt by this new transfer portal. These guys would be here otherwise that's why I'm angry.
Yep...lots of intolerance of people's opinions. More angry instead of conversational with some I know way more than you thrown in from time to time. Ahhhh...good times!Posting here of late..
