Frank Howard...ahhhh, I got nothing.

Let's face it, this is as good as we could have hoped for this year. We are in most games. And we aren't good. 5 more games.

Not debating that. We're as good as I thought we'd be, maybe a little better.

Our classes have been ranked high almost every year but this year. Guys aren't developing, going to the NBA or transferring.

I don't think it's all coaching but I think it's part of it.
Actually, our classes haven't been all that high. I have been very critical of our recruiting strategy. What top 20 player have we recruited in the last 4 years? Lydon was ranked about 80. We haven't recruited the way we should.

Fine. Different topic. I am not defending jb on everything. The replacing guys does fall back on the sanctions. But the statement that you can't win with JB as coach is silly. And barring injury, will be made to look so next year. At least in the regular season. And of course should we lose early in the tournament, then that will be all that matters.

I’d like to get in comfortably and be in the top 20. Jury’s out. We need Brissett back and a healthy Sidibe for that to happen. If it doesn’t I expect another year in the bubble.

I don't think w ehave had a top 10 class in the last 4 years if not longer. Until this coming year

We’re already screwing up 2019 going after athletes instead of shooters. When are we going to learn just stopping people isn’t enough?

Of course the jury is out. We have a year to wait before we play a game. I also said barring injury.

The frusturating thing is we aren't getting those elite recruits yet they still leave after 1 or 2 years. It puts us in no man's land.

That’s why it was stupid not going after Montgomery after we signed Bazley.

I am very upset about 2019 but not for the reason you just claimed. Name the guys that we are going after in 2019? we are being very tepid in our recruiting for 2019. For shooters or athletes. And that is what puts us in trouble when guys leave early.

I have zero idea who we are going after, but we need a big class because I expect a
lot of guys gone by then we need 5 or 6 guys. All I ever hear about is Kahlil Whitney and he can’t shoot at all.

#8 in 2013, #38 in 2014, #8 in 2015, #18 in 2016 overalls.

Ennis was #20
McCullough was #24
Malachi was #23

I honestly disagree with overall team ratings, but agree I haven't liked our strategy/results until this latest class.

As I said, I don't find that impressive. No top 20 player (Ennis at 20) #38? For a school like Syracuse? Did the coaches take the year off? The two *'s are suspect to me. And not for nothing, Nova hasn't had an impressive recruiting ranking in the last 5 years.

Frank has put our team in so many games this year with his play, so outside of some bonehead errors and lack of effort on defense late in a game where he has played 38 out of 38 minutes, he has well exceeded expectations this year. Get some bench depth so guys like Frank can get some rest and we are having a totally different conversation. That being said, you cannot go 0-2 at the line in crunch time. Given, our team is only sub par at free throws so it did not surprise me that he missed those.

Markell Johnson changed the game. Forced a couple of push offs and got under his skin.

Defense could not stop their dribble penetration. They got in there at will and set up threes all over the place. Quick guards. Dolezaj just too late getting to the those corners sometimes off of little action.

There is no way JB should come back

???

Malachi was a McDonald's All American. Tyus would have likely been a top 20 player if he didn't miss most of his junior year with a knee injury. Chris McCullough was #24. SU is getting those players. They just move on.

These arguments are funny.

Our front line is in chaos, yet we should beat everyone and when we don't the coach is trash. We're playing with
-a guy who on Sunday was ruled out as a result of a chronic injury having to play big and important minutes.
-a guy who only plays one of every three or four games, again due to chronic injury
-a guy who until three games ago couldn't score the ball if you gave it to him within five feet with a clear path to the bucket
-our center spending a considerable amount of the game on the bench in apparent pain
-our most reliable forward playing like a knucklehead and picking up two fouls in the first minute and a half of the game.

Again, not a coincidence we keep losing tight games this year.

Not fighting over screens - Dead legs.

Missing end game free throws - Dead legs.

No idea how we keep having "Blame Frank" threads.

Blame coach who only plays one friggin defense all game. So sick of it.

i dont buy the excuse that frank is tired for his lazy d, remember the end of notre dame game? its more about his attitude and effort than his minutes.
I agree - the problem with teams that aren't good is that someone has to put up numbers (points, rebounds, assists) and in doing that they begin thinking they are better than they are. I think that is happening with a few players on this team.

Clearly Frank needs surgery or rest with his hand problem. He's not 100% (nor is any player on this team which is a whole different issue).
