Fran's Game 6 Press Conference | SMU

"Today I'm feeling a lot better than I was yesterday and on Saturday. I'm moving on to SMU."Coach Brown on how he feels today after Saturday's loss.

"Rickie will keep getting better."

"We want everybody involved in the offense more. That way we score more points." Coach Brown when asked if Yasin Willis will get more carries moving forward.

"They just gotta keep watching. I know I got their back, so I hope they have ours." Coach Brown's message to Syracuse fans after the blowout loss to Duke.

"He was poised and he wasn't afraid in the pocket." Coach Brown on Rickie Collins performance against Duke. Brown also detailed how he and Collins stayed to watch film together after the game Saturday.

Fran Brown says true freshman QB Luke Carney is "probably No. 2 right now," with Jakhari Williams and Rich Belin fighting for the third spot."But, it changes all of the time."

"He'll bring toughness and accountability." "Everything a receiver should be able to do, he can do." Coach Brown on SU wideout Emanuel Ross.

"We're working on some guys right now, trying to get them opportunities." Coach Brown on developing the young defensive lineman on SU's roster.

Brown said he's working on educating the kick and punt returners more. They're a young group and he's encouraging them to put their hands out horizontally, the universal sign for a touchback.

Brown said Byron Washington is one of the leaders on the team despite being a freshman.

Fran is so damn good. Taking accountability for Saturday. Rickie specifically reached out to Fran to rewatch the game together Saturday night. I hope fans realize that Fran is trying to instill national championship DNA. Not just make the playoff and flame out in round 1.

Stop, we just got curb stomped by Duke 38-3 at home. This stuff is ridiculous.

After the duke loss, I already see some posters here starting to switch up. People are funny.

Javon honestly asks some of the best questions. He’s the chief best writer for the team. Hr needs to dig a little. It’s too bad if Fran doesn’t like it.

Did you watch it? Look we may never get there. I’m just saying we’re not approaching and responding to adversity the easy way because in the process we’re building to actually get the job done if we get there. There are programs at that level right now competing, but won’t succeed in winning the Natty because they don’t have the DNA. Programs that have it, Ohio State, Georgia, Clemson, Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame (if Freeman gets them back in that position, I’m confident they win it). We’ll see who joins them next, but it’s not a coincidence Penn State has been in position to breakthrough, but can’t. Maybe things become different for them the rest of the season, but if we are fortunate to get to that level of consistency, trust me, we would hope to finish the job a lot sooner than they are taking because eventually the window closes.

Love Fran and the energy he’s brought to the program, but I learn almost nothing from his press conferences.

He’s overly guarded and is too concerned about saying the wrong thing.

Duke clearky picked up on our offensive and defensive play signals. They knew what we were doing a lot of the time. You could tell he knew that, but he wants to move on. Similar with the injury timeouts and being held accountable by the ACC.

Sense he’s starting to get a little defensive. The honeymoon is likely over. He didn’t get to enjoy last year and the Clemson win very long. It’ll be interesting to see how he responds if we stub our toe at SMU.
