That’s the most upbeat and positive Fran has been in weeks. They skirted the issue. Just ask him if he’d be interested in the Penn State job.

He didn't want that question, but also his agent wants him to be in that mix for a job because it gives him leverage for a big extension at Syracuse, too.

I'm not worried about him going to Penn State...but he'd be stupid not to use it as leverage.

The mumbling after certain questions, the response to the question about leaving for a better job and him calling out the reporter at the end before it cut off. Sounds like he is dealing with some outside stuff as well per his response to one question but that was a weird PC even by SU standards.

The mumbling after certain questions, the response to the question about leaving for a better job and him calling out the reporter at the end before it cut off. He did say that one of his old Pop Warner coaches passed away last week.

Carlson did his job asking about the QB. Would have been criminal not to. Honestly they could have been more aggressive about it. Fran needs some smoothing out with these pressers and how he handles them.

He needs that and quick because if these questions irritate him he's in for a rude awakening in a few weeks if the wheels come completely off and the outside noise really gets going.

I have to admit, did not love the way that presser went down.

Really did not enjoy the mumbling about reporters after the questions. Did not like him asking the reporter "Why did you ask me that" that after the presser.

Im not too concerned with him going to PSU but this certainly did not extinguish any of the doubts that may have been in the back of my head.

I think I have said this from the start of his tenure that pressers would eventually be an issue and that he is a bit unpolished there.

A lot of that is simply inexperience and he will get better I am sure...

The other side of the QB thing - Fran's a players coach and defending his starter (regardless of outside noise) plays well for EVERYONE in the locker room.
