Fran's Game 7 Press Conference | Pitt

Or it could mean Syracuse isn’t meeting his demands for resources to keep the show rolling. Even if they continue to meet the demands for resources and remain somewhat competitive there is still three programs I had previously thought he would at least listen to if they called. Penn State is one of them though is third to Georgia and Rutgers. Any other programs that Fran goes to I would wonder if it was anything on the Syracuse side that could’ve been done better to support him.
Well, he has to do his part too. We had a ton of momentum heading into Duke and collapsed on offense/defense/special teams. Fans want to be part of something special. 10 wins is nice, but Babers had a 10-win season and Coach P had one post-McNabb. Babers beat a more talented Clemson team.

We had the Pitt game last year, but it seemed like just a game of bad bounces. Otherwise, Stanford/BC were competitive. Tennessee never felt like we were out of it, although we also never felt quite in it. Duke/SMU seemed like we were a Mac team playing a P4 team. When you are down 38-3 to Duke and 31-3 to SMU... that is some pretty bad football. There are quite a few coaches who can do THAT. That is something Syracuse fans are all too used to.

NW beat Penn State with 3 FGs and 2 TDs. You can kick FGs on the road and win. Fran keeps taking FGs off the board. He needs to do his part too.

Calvin Russell was offered by Penn State. Messiah Hampton, yeah he picked Oregon, but it sounds like he would’ve been for Syracuse over Penn State. Orangefog, mentioned Roseby Lubintus. I believe a pretty decent share of the current roster had offers from Penn State, whether they were high priority targets or non committable offers for Penn State, I have no clue. But to say Fran Brown has not been a problem for them is not how I would describe that situation. There are scales to problems and he is becoming and is increasingly with each future recruiting class a bigger problem for Penn State. Already some Penn State decommits are coming for visits, will they come here, if we get 1 that would be a big deal given the other suitors. I did mention earlier in a previous post that James Franklin and his staff have done a pretty good job containing it. The work this staff has been doing in Florida against Florida State, Miami, and Florida is more notable. Which also is another selling point is that Fran can get elite recruits outside of the northeast and the dmv, which I’m not sure even James Franklin and his staff was able to do.
Chase Geter and 4 others in our 2026 class had PSU offers plus I’m pretty sure we got Stanley Montgomery who PSU was high on as part of our 2027 class.

I'm so sick of not being able to hear the questions.

Consider yourself lucky. They are terribly worded.

He already gave Chris that annoyed vote of confidence for his QB that coaches so often do and Chris goes back and asks him later if it's about preserving the redshirt of Carney? Sigh. If you really want to challenge him, you bring up to him that Collins' interception % is similar to QBs who've been replaced and the schools have found increased success in the backup. For example, this week's opponent.

And Javon's question was dumb too. I hate the way he worded it. Anytime we have a big win, or another job opens up, Fran has to tell the fanbase he's committed. I understand our place in the college football landscape, but couldn't we just pretend like we belong?

I don't think the blue bloods who have have or may have job openings will go after Fran Yet. Florida, Penn State, Auburn, maybe Florida State, but I would be worried about the Arkansas/ Kentucky jobs IMO
Agreed. VA Tech, UCLA, Ok St as well. Kind of all depends how the next 6 games play out as well. What you can sell and what you can’t.

UCLA keeps playing like they are I have to imagine they stay put

I know many aren't scared, but when a Vegas lines shift that quickly, that usually does not bode well.

Yes, very unusual to see a shift that large and for a relatively "low priority" candidate. Couple that with the weird response at the presser and him asking that reporter why he asked him that question on the hot mic...certainly puts me on edge.

At the same time, that would be a good play by either his agent or Pitt supporters.

Are any of these odds real Vegas odds? I keep seeing random tweets by nobodies with nothing to back them up.

Syracuse will have to show just how serious they are about football and that includes everyone from the administration to the fans (alumni and students included). Looking at the bigger picture this move would not be as crazy as some people think it would be. Do people really think that they aren’t going to consider Fran Brown just because we lost our starting QB and have struggled the last two weeks since we don’t have the defense yet to keep us in games against high powered offenses when we can’t finish drives offensively yet? People should realize we have an awesome head coach, it would be stupid for Penn State to not want to interview the guy, and I hope we do everything and give us much support as we can in our power to keep Fran Brown here and continuing to build what looks like a very promising trajectory for this program overall. Fran Brown is going to make it, whether it’s here or elsewhere. I and I’m sure many others want it to be here. It’s very hard to poach a proven winner, a national championship winner elsewhere (there is only 3 active ones), the next bet is to get a guy who you think can win one with better resources. Fran Brown I think can win a natty here and he can at Penn State despite what people think from the last few weeks.
