Fran's Prediction: SU in Top 25% for ACC NIL within 12 Months

We’ve been hearing that for 10 years on this board from the same people who said this was going to happen 5 years ago.
I am not talking about whats happening in sports. just look at what schools like JHU are going thru

And have a down year or two in a row how does the NIL do then? Also a coach like Fran will be recruited to bigger programs. Does he stay?
Don't be afraid to face that issue. Go for it now and maybe this fear does not arise, or at least for many years. We've had extended periods where SU was great.

Wait, we're supposed to survive that phase?

Pitino did and they even dressed him up like Col Sanders in the process...

and the bigger issue then becomes.. Can you sustain this for 10 yrs. then when the roster gets better and deeper can you come up with even more money?
I think so as we win more and more we sell more and more tickets so we would be full all games and not most. kinda my same point with basketball. Spend some money, get the crowds to 30,000 again and leqd league in attendance or country and we would then create NIL money.

I promise I am not trying to agitate here. Please help me understand how you see game attendance correlating directly to an $8million / year NIL war chest? I definitely think that having max butts in seats is a great look and builds the atmosphere around the programs we want, but I fail to understand what that has to do with NIL.

Not shu 49, IMHO there is some correlation.

More fans means we are winning and the fanbase has expanded. Some of those new fans might want to flex and garner respect with some donations.

Also i think more pepes in seatsmore donars andmore ways to make school money to help collectives. I am not great at explantion sometimes. My bad.

semantics, but Fran is talking about a different number. Schools can revenue share. Every school we want to be competing against will share up to the same cap and then companies and boosters will pay NIL on top of that.

School is paying 21 million. Fran is seeking 8 on top of that (at least I think, I assume 8 figures already going to football from the 21M revenue share).

Currently, he says we're middle-of-pack in ACC programs for NIL.

Targeting another $6-8 Mill in funds raised in the next 12 months for SU Football specifically:

So, I said a few months ago that I would pledge "whatever my tax return was to fran browns nil fund". The forum smart ass said " I'll pledge your tax return too". So as of today it's $965 and I'm wondering if the forum smart ass will match it...or if it will just have a smart ass reply. It's not much but i'm a retired truck driver...and I don't have a lot except my love of su sports lol

I may be that "smartass" and yes, I will pledge another $965 from you.

Ah. OK. I think what the school can pay out is max $20.5 million of revenue sharing. That is the ACC distribution/TV money. NIL is pure “marketing contracts” (donations). Genuine interest and excitement in the program may result in more donations, but this makes me wonder about something else related. With conference payouts being unevenly distributed based on TV ratings, do more butts in seats get us better TV slots? Probably yes, but if we don’t get to the top of the ratings and our payouts slip, does the university stick to its $20.5 million commitment?

Everyone is in the same boat rowing up stream...

Well, maybe the SEC has their own boats with motors.

They have boats with motors and by the time everyone gets those, they’ll be using drug cartel/runner boats.

We need to keep pace with his ambition. As long as we can provide everything he needs to be successful, I think we can hang onto him.

That’s how I feel about this. We know he’s different than most coaches and I believe him when he says he wants to be here. At the same time, he’s not staying if he doesn’t get fan/community/university support and enough NIL money to be successful.

"We thought our canoes were fast and adequate but didn't realize other programs would have speed boats that do 120mph+."

I haven’t gotten money back in forever. I keep my money as long as possible.
